We booked a last minute Easter trip, just me and my 6yr old son Dexter, so we had the last room left. It's newly decorated, super soft bedding and towels and a decent size room for us. The room was bright and airy, and fresh and clean. Will couldn't do enough for us, he was very helpful and friendly even... More

Lovely transformation of an old pub into a charming modern eatery by new young owners. Stopped for a snack had great coffee and bacon sandwiches and a fab welcome. Looking forward to going again!

Travelling with 2 children, 7 and 10, and our dog, we wanted a family break dog welcoming, one with pubs in walking distance, nearby beaches, coastal walks, dramatic scenery, great hosts and food. The Smugglers Rest delivered all of the above, and more!! A great place for dogs, with open land right outside the front for late night and early... More

Stayed here for weekend break as base for walking coast path. Room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast was exceptionally good. Owner was very welcoming and attentive and looked after us well. Looking forward to coming back next year after they have refurbished rooms over the winter.

This location has a fantastic sea view, the food is very good but as with many other reviews the service is non existent with the proprietors preferring to ignore customers rather than serve them. It is such a shame as if they got their act together they would be on to a winner. We had Pizza on a Tuesday night... More

Stopped here for a cream tea before a coastal walk. Nice setting with free wifi (best around the toilet area!!). Sat in the garden area, nice on a sunny day. A little disappointed in the portion size and the scones did not taste that fresh. Staff did not seem too interested - a throw away enjoy as walking off does... More

We stayed for two night over the bank holiday, spotlessly clean and very comfy bed. The re-vamp down stairs is very smart can't wait too see what they do with the rooms.

We had lunch here amidst a picturesque village and although the pub appears nice from the outside the sticky tables and terrible food were not good, my wife and I both left half of our food as it was pretty much inedible.

In need of a pint and a bite to eat after enjoying a walk on the coastal path this was the 1st place we came to. The pint, drunk outside in the sunshine was lovely, the crab baguette was tasteless but it filled a hole. Service was quick and friendly
