Good range of trad lunch options.Place looks a bit tired from outside : is original small dark pub that would benefit from a makeover given the surrounding aspiring 'poshness' of the village of Shaldon. Some would disagree , as its the old traditional sea/beach edge pub, that has been well used & is showing it . Excellent range of drinks... More

Walking the SWCP we jumped off the ferry and decide to pop into the Ferry Boat for a drink and sandwich. Both were provided efficiently. The food was served outside in brilliant sunshine and the experience was lovely. The place was obviously popular and we would like to return to have a meal there at another time.

Went to the Ferry boat for breakfast on sunday 28th june. There were plenty of staff who were all only too pleased to help. Our friend needed gluten free food and the staff gave her sound advice about their food so she was able to choose easily. We had a lovely full English breakfast which was hot and delicious. My... Called into the Ferry Boat for a supper on our way home. We decided to eat upstairs as it was very dark down in the bar and too cold outside. I ordered fish and chips which looked very good but the batter was very bland and the cod was tasteless. It was all very hot, a plus. The Doombar was... More

A once trendy and popular restaurant is a shadow of its former self, evidenced by the fact we were the only diners on a Saturday lunchtime. Several mistakes, hot food served on cold plates, no serviettes with cutlery and a couple pieces of errant plastic iin the meal! A pity really, a good local beer and two friendly young ladies... Had a nice pub grub Saturday lunch at the Ferryboat Inn. Simple food.... We had scampi, chips and peas..... The portions were a bit small. The location is perfect.... The garden is on the beach edge with steps directly onto the sand. You can sit and watch the beautiful ferry going to and fro from Shaldon to Teignmouth.... Utterly delightful.

We called on the off chance for sunday lunch, with 6 of us and the dog. Although Sunday lunch menu's tend to be quite limited, we did not realise that when we were given the menu and left it on our table after ordering, that it was the only copy of the lunchtime menu. Anyway, the service was friendly enough... More

Food not available on our visit due to the festive week but we only called for a drink anyway. We were surprised at the amount of people in this pub, we couldn't get a seat at 4.30pm. But having experienced the warmth and welcome of the local families with their children and pets and tasted the fine real ales we... More
