Food was very good. This is my third visit to this establishment. Service on this occasion was a little slow. However, we were in no rush and food was of good quality and well cooked.

This is a friendly local pub that seems to welcome visitors warmly it’s a great place to time your crossing on the ferry as you can see the ferry from the outside area we will be back

When you first walk in it looks like a locals pub, good atmosphere but you do think where's the restaurant? The barmaid greeted us happily and directed to upstairs and said she would let them know we were coming up. Abit of change of decor...More

We popped in for a quick drink when on a stroll through Shaldon. Service was pretty poor, the girl behind the bar had to ask for our order several times, and still got it wrong. We only ordered drinks....but a the coffee was the wrong...More

Having been told there would be a 20-30 minute wait by the clearly hungover and disinterested bar staff, we ordered two of the specials. One hour and 15 minutes later, having started on our third pint, the food arrived. 3 medium sized prawns for me...More

The Ferry Boat Inn is situated in the heart of the village and the beer garden literally overlooks the beach and River Teignmouth-Shaldon estuary. We are the first of the pubs in Shaldon and Shaldon restaurants you'll find after disembarking the Teignmouth to Shaldon ferry. The pub is run by two sisters who took over in February 2017. They know the quirks of the pub backwards and the (quirks of the) local community extremely well. There is live music three times a week on most weeks (Thursday and Friday nights and Sunday afternoons). The pub is dog friendly and family friendly. 'Chef Shelley' runs the restaurant which specialises in local produce, from River Teignmouth-Shaldon mussels (a real favourite) to locally sourced award winning steaks and homemade meals. Look out for the specials board on the blackboard inside.
