Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We've just had a great lunch at The pump and pedal. Tasty steak pasty for me..my son devoured his gremlin pizza in record time so must have been delicious and a margarita with Extra chicken for my daughter (not on the menu but no trouble at all). yes, they were extremely busy it is summer holidays and 'eat out to help out'was very popular but we had good service and we're lucky enough to live local so will definitely be making a return visit. Thanks!

We stopped off at the Pump and Pedal for lunch today on the home stretch of the granite way cycle trail . After 15 miles of cycling the kids were tired and hungry . We had pizzas and pasties and smoothies . Everything was delicious and everyone was satiated and very satisfied . Would thoroughly recommend . Spotless toilets was a bonus.

This is a good alternative to the other services on the A30 if the weather is good not sure how much inside seating they have. It is primarily a bike shop, with the cafe extension. Pasties and Pizzas are the main hot food, the rest is snacks and drinks. Pizza, fresh good value for money and tasty, again another good flatwhite! 2 minutes of the A30, easy to gain access back onto the A30 as well.

Staying at the campsite next door we decided to treat ourselves to a meal out and being right on the doorstep The Pump and Pedal was the perfect choice. Due to a limited diet my husband and I shared a Hot stuff Pizza and cheesy Garlic bread which were cooked perfectly. There was a good choice of drinks and my husband really enjoyed one of the local ales and there was plenty of spirits, beers and ciders to chose from. Handy use of space with the shop and pub all rolled into one and although the weather wasn't great we could see there was ample seating outside to enjoy your food and drinks in the sun.

We visited after cycling along the Granite Way from Lydford on 26/8/20. I'm glad we found this place as after our lunch we cycled to Okehampton station platform cafe which is our regular food stop to find it sadly went in to administration in February. Anyway back to the pump and pedal.... A lovely beer garden, friendly staff and a tasty pizza. Indoors we only visited the toilet indoors which was modern and clean. Definitely visit again. One thing to note is that there could be some signage from the Lydford side directing you to the pub, the only signage is from the Okehampton side, follow directions for the Bundu campsite. Keep up the good work. Cheers

This pub has a great garden to sit in and enjoy a beer or cider. The food choice is limited, mainly pasties, sausage rolls and pizza. They also sell small tubs of tasty ice cream. Clean loos and lots of parking.

A colleague told me about the amazing take away pizzas available from the P&P - we decided to try them on Friday night and they didn't disappoint! The chap serving misheard me and thought I'd said margarita with onions, when actually I'd asked for olives. When I pointed this out, he offered to re-make it for me. I said not to worry so he gave me a packet of olives instead. Great food and lovely staff. Thank you Pump & Pedal!

A pint and pizza is a great way to finish an epic Mtb ride in Dartmoor. Love the table service, hope it continues after covid. Good selection of beers and local cider. Pizzas were really tasty. Will be back. 👍🏼🍺🍕

How lucky were we to be staying just across the way from this place on our holiday. Fantastic customer service whether it was coffee before the ride, or beer when we got back. Darren made much-needed adjustments to our bikes, and when we decided to get a bike rack for the car, not only did he give us great advice; he fit it for us AND checked our bikes on it before our long journey up North, all for a smile. Honestly, Darren and his staff may not realize it, but they made our holiday. Thanks folks :)

Best pizza I have had eating out for years. My husband makes fantastic pizzas at home, and this is the first place in the UK I've found that is as good as his. Generous, quality ingredients in toppings, but firm crispy base, not sloppy or overloaded. Very friendly staff, situated in funky bike shop with a little bar. You can eat in or take out. Plenty of veggie and meat options.

Popped in here for a quick lunch. Delicious home made thin crust pizza and sparkling Elderflower from Luscombes! Only outside seating at the moment cos of Covid but have eaten indoors before. Ideal stop off enroute to Cornwall (take Tavistock urn off the A30 and first left into Sourton Village) Also a Bike shop and bike repairs for those on the Granite Way!

Stayed in Lyford at the weekend and biked the Granite Way to Okehampton and back. Called in here for coffee on the way, sat outside in their garden in the sunshine. Went in to order coffee, really nicely renovated with a bike shop inside! Friendly staff and nice coffee. Food menu was limited but they do a pizza night on a Friday. Wished we'd gone back for that. Will do it next time though!

Attended The Pump & Pedal with a family member and our dog today and I was more than impressed with the site as well as the staff who made such a fuss over the dog (she adores being the centre of attention, especially when she can smell food 😂), I had the mocha with fried egg + sausage breakfast bap which were superb. The customer service is top notch as well as the atmosphere, the café layout is well presented and very clean indeed. The staff working on the café side were superb (didn't ask for their names but can't praise them enough) Will definitely come again in future

Arrived and greeted to take a seat and staff will take your order. They arrived 10 mins later, apologised for the delay. Ordered 2 coffees and a piece of flapjack. Member of staff realised the table next to us did not have a drink, they had been waiting 20 mins to be served!! 1 coffee arrived, bitter coffee, no sugar. Asked for sugar, they didn’t know where the sugar was. This brought about an argument between themselves. Flap Jack arrived 5 mins later but still not the other coffee. Many people shaking heads as can’t believe what a shambles the set up was. 3 members of staff that were not working together.

I regularly ride the Granite Way,this time with my son and his friend who are on an activity adventure from Australia. I decided it was time to pop into The Pump and Pedal for coffee and cake which was lovely. We sat outside in the garden where there was plenty of shade, there is also a wonderful grassed are for camping. Inside what was once the Presley Moor PH we found a great selection of bikes both including ebikes supported by a proper service and repair facility. All this was on offer with friendly service,so we’ll worth a visit.👏
