I've been travelling the south west with work and eaten at many burger vans. I had the cheese burger and a latte. I have to say its the best tasting to date and the service was second to none, very friendly and they even offered some sausages for the dog. I would also like to say the prices were very good for the portions.
I couldn't recommend more highly.
I will definitely be popping back on my travels.

I visited this little gem of a burger van recently after hearing locally of its famous "Jackstack" burgers.
Wow... It did not disappoint, absolutely delicious! Plenty of other things on menu to choose from too including homemade brownies which tasted amazing n excellent value for money!
The staff were so friendly n full of smiles.
Highly recommend a visit. Plenty of free parking with clean toilet facilities and a free drinking water tap in ladies toilet.

It's certainly not much of a service area (overgrown grassy area and a few picnic tables) but at least the toilets were clean and, also, there was The Currant Bun catering truck. On offer were tempting snacks (sausage, bacon, egg baps, burgers, chips) and I was served by an extremely friendly lady who couldn't do enough to make sure I got what I wanted. Just the thing to fill that empty hole after driving up from Cornwall.

I've had something to eat here a few times now and it's always great. Good selection of Baps from Bacon or Sausage to Egg or any combination, which is great when you have fussy eaters with you.
The burgers hit the spot and even come with pickles (I like pickles).
The kids had one of the all singing, all dancing, Hot Chocolates each and really enjoyed them (they have pictures on facebook).
Thoroughly recommend.

We stopped here on our way to Cornwall and benefited from our first meeting with big Irish James and petite Roxy. Their all singing and dancing breakfast bap took more after James in size than Roxy! It was a generously packed and good flavoured meal all on its own and well worth its modest price. A little roadside gem which deserves every success. Well done, Team Currant Bun - you inherit a tragic legacy but Jack is right there encouraging you onward. Best wishes Richard (still with brown sauce on my shirt!) and Patsy xx

Probably the first time we’ve managed to both break a journey and eat here in all the time since the well established old porta a in cafe closed several years ago. The currrant bun is very different but it’s very welcome and useful. Nothing spectacular or even special but there’s a good simple combination of burger snacks, some of which we consumed along with big paper mugs of tea. Bit of a queue but handled quickly. Will stop here again.

The team were just amazing! They looked after our family gathering from many nations all weekend, went out their way to assist us in what we needed, including a beer run!
It is the easiest 5 star review I can give.

This place is amazing small menu but that doesn’t matter because the quality of the food was out of this world. Really good price for what you get. Had the Jack stack and holy moly it was beautiful. The burgers were juicy the bun was perfect will definitely be coming back for more.

Attended an event where currant bun did on site catering.breakfast, lunch and evening meal. Food was fabulous and generous, staff were soooo accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely people, deffo recommend

Today my Partner &I stopped for a coffee.
We were still there when it closed and were given a free burger and huge piece of Biscotti cake to take home.
Really kind people, who gave exceptional service.
Thoroughly recommend this as a pit stop.

Popped in today, me and my wife had the breakfast roll, cups of tea and a natter with Jan and her Aunt. Wonderful service and food, great atmosphere as usual and look forward to returning in the near future. They even popped in a couple of flap jacks. This place is a gem and has some great ideas. Great people providing food for a weekend event.
Breakfast well cooked and plenty food.
Lunches of tasty burgers and rolls.
Evening meals hot and tasty.
Great people. Friendly and happy to work around our plans.

I pass this service stop every Wednesday on my way home to Plymouth. Until recently the burger van had been closed which was a shame. 4 weeks ago The Currant Bun re-opened and I am so glad. It's run by 2 very pleasant Irish guys who are trying really hard to make a go of it. The food is good and there is loads of it; I'm slowly working my way through their menu and have jot been disappointed yet.
It's a nice spot, there is a small seating area and some grass, plenty of parking and toilets.
Would definitely recommend The Currant Bun.

Absolutely phenomenal, I had the jack stack and if I had known it was real burgers and not the cheap thin ones I would’ve just ordered a cheeseburger as they are are proper thick butchers ones! However I did eat it and it was amazing
