Rude and obnoxious While waiting for a bus, sat outside a staff member came out and told me to leave. I was considering buying a hot drink to keep me warm but her demeanour and attitude will put me off this place for good.

Beautiful day with the hat festival in full swing. Liked the look of this cafe from the outside so went in to take the weight off. Feels like a family run business. Seating in and outside. Had a to queue a while which was a...bit cramped but the cake and coffee was tasty and reasonably priced. With Costa next door there is competition a plenty but they have a nice feel and touch that should set them above a franchise. Will go again when next in the area.More
Having visited this lovely café many times before, today was not good. We were spoken to rudely by the owner and told to put all the furniture back! I assume he meant the chair which had been moved from another table. We replied that we...didn’t know where all the chairs belonged as other customers had clearly moved chairs and the owner curtly told us that he didn’t know either! Perhaps he was just tired, as it was the end of the day. Great ice cream, lovely coffee but we will not be returning.More
The best gelato, made on the premises and pastries …Full stop! The owners and staff are always friendly and it’s a consistently mouth watering esperience
Made a spontaneous pit stop at this contemporary up market gelateria on a recent market day visit to Bridport. - The dining space is small but bright and cheerily decorated with some amusing quirky touches. In particular, the light fittings (when we realised) and door...stop were inspired and made us smile. - We found all the staff friendly and humorous. Whilst ordering teas and coffees, our eyes inevitably wandered around the counter and I can particularly recommend the Persian Kisses (tiny cakes subtly seasoned with cardamom) and the sublime pastry clad kale and feta rolls. Not cheap, but so good they were worth it! - The home made mint choc chip ice cream was so good we ended up buying a box to take back. They provide polystyrene boxes to help keep the ice cream frozen for the journey home. We also picked up a box of chocolate coated figs to indulge in at home that evening. - All in all a highly recommended shopping trip oasis of calm, perhaps more suited to adults and children with a more mature palate. - Can't wait to return and try some other tempting treats....More
Great service and even greater coffee. Cozy little cafe with yummy treats inside. I will be back! My daughter and I want to thank the fella in Ropemakers for telling us about this little gem in BRidport! Delightful!
Fantastic quality coffee and cake. Don’t buy into the reviews about snooty service if you want to have fabulous coffee, cake and gelato. I come from Sydney where we have excellent coffee and gelato and I can honestly say this cafe’s product is the same....Try the chocolate and coconut cake for a real taste sensation.More
Absolutely awful. Rude, rude man. Never been treated so badly by a retailer/restaurant in Bridport. Jumped to conclusions without even asking and getting facts straight. Such a shame - Bridport town is a wonderful place and the ?owner of this facility completely undermined the ethos,...helpfulness and kindness of retailers in Bridport. Was going to buy Gelato here, but will NEVER give my custom to this business and would urge others not to either.More
More than lived up to our expectations having been recommended by friends. The coffee was excellent and the cakes or probably more accurately patisserie as they were unusual and delicious not just run of the mill cake. Make sure you are there when they open...as it is obviously very popular and there are not many tables.More
Beautiful café with the most wonderful cake ever experienced. Constantly different recipes to enjoy by a wonderful talented lady surprising us with her delights. Coffee superb sit in or outside weather permitting, while away the day! Enjoy! Fully recommend.
Not been here since it changed to a cafe. I won't be back until it changes again I thought I might have been overly sensitive but reading other reviews, it seems I'm not alone in my view. Incredibly unwelcoming and staff bordering on rude through...their indifference. That said perfectly nice tea and a nice selection of pastries and cakes but I need more than just that to enjoy an experience.More
I had the chocolate flavour gelato and it was the best I've had outside of Italy, as was the coffee. My partner had banana and chocolate cake which was also sublime. The interior is lovely and sitting outside in the sun sipping a flat white...and savouring that gelato was to die for. The service was perfect and you can tell the couple both had heaps of experience, that or they're just really friendly and naturally gifted!More
Stopped for a coffee. The flat white was excellent. Tarte Nata delicious. After that we just had to try an ice cream, which was also good. Most enjoyable, thank you.
We visited on Friday afternoon with 2 adults and 4 10-12 year olds. The look the “lady” behind the counter gave us would have soured milk. We had one customer in front of us so waited quietly discussing which flavours to choose. Neither she nor...the man making coffee acknowledged us or nodded good afternoon like any normal establishment The children all asked for their ice creams politely but she still never did anything but scowl. The ice cream is perfectly good but I certainly wouldn’t recommendMore
Visited here with my son and two granddaughters on a surprisingly sunny Saturday morning. Nice building but horrible snooty atmosphere. My very well behaved grandchild was treated like a nuisance. No charm or warmth here.. very cold atmosphere. It's an ice-cream shop.. not an upmarket...wine bar. Reading other negative reviews.. i can we weren't the only ones! Advice- if you can't be trusted to be kind to anyone under 5, don't open an ice-cream shop.. or even deal with the public! Bridport has another wonderful gelato maker (Baboo), who show kindness to each customer.. adult, child or dog! We'll spend our money with them going forward.More
