Went here on a Saturday night a couple of weeks ago whilst on a family weekend away. Menu had changed slightly since our last visit think there are new owners. The food is of a good standard had broccoli and Stilton soup to start which was very tasty. Had a steak for main which was well cooked and tasty. The... More

What a find, just a mile off the A35 in a tranquil spot by a stream. Friendly welcome, delicious homemade scotch eggs, great beer & a lovely sunny garden. Perfect for breaking the journey to Devon.

I called there for a drink yesterday lunch time, having visited on many occasions over the years. It's a great pub, in a lovely village (Litton Cheney). Idyllic tranquil setting with well tended gardens, by a fast flowing stream. Although I didn't eat on this visit, the food is great and good value, with an extensive menu. The atmosphere is... More

We visited as we had holidayed in the village a few years ago, when the previous landlady had been in situ and the food exceptional. The ale is still good, it's great to see so many locals in the bar, but I would go somewhere else for food in future. There was nothing wrong with it, just not very good.

After reading Jethro's amusing review about Romford accents and coffee machines, it was a foregone conclusion we would have to visit...innit? My husband and I travelled from Devon last night to meet four friends holidaying in Dorset..we also chose this pub as it had parking and garden tables, perfect for our pack of four dogs. This is a traditional English Pub. Which means reasonable welcome, good beer and moderate food. There is a smallish car park .

Thank you for the review, I love the traditional English pub ❤️❤️ A pub full of atmosphere, good beer, good friendly people, a place to play darts, skittles or boules in our steam sided beer garden and also the option to have traditional pub food. We were staying with friends who recently moved to Litton Cheney and they, quite rightly, wanted to show off their lovely friendly new local. Of course in Dorset being a local doesn't mean it's necessarily next door but the walk from their home was a delight and not too far even for my husband who had a full knee replacement... More
