Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

With Mike at front of house there is a great atmosphere. Good service with a set menu plus the board for the specials. I would suggest booking is advisable depending on time of day as seating is limited. I suffer from hernia every time I...visit due to the size of the teapot!More

Having read the reviews it was important to try this cafe out! We were not disappointed! The food was delicious, the welcome warm and friendly but professional. Portions are huge, prices super reasonable. The menu was extensive enough to cater for everyone. The atmosphere was...fabulous and the service excellent. It is a very popular place and for good reason. The locals obviously love this place and it is continually busy with visitors and locals. It was great to see friendly banter and the owner interacting with the customers. If ever visiting Bridport this place is a must to visit. Good local produce cooked brilliantly well! Thank you for a wonderful start to our holiday. We will definitely be back! Enough said!More

One of the best places to eat in Bridport, lovely friendly welcome and delicious food. Reasonably priced. The coffee is excellent too.

Our fav cafe in Bridport while we are visiting Dorset. Fabulous lunch as always, large Prawn Jacket, very filling with delicious coleslaw and salad. I enjoyed a most delicious dark hot chocolate drink, piping hot..I usually have to say at other cafes can you make...it hot! Mike makes the best drinks, it's been a long time to wait since our last visit in Dec. Mike & team are consistently hard working. It was buzzing in the cafe today, esp next to the table with the teenage ladies 😅More

Oulr first visit to Green Yard, Bridport, in a year, and my-oh-my, was it good to be back! Super-friendly service troughout, good lunch menu + specials, liscenced. The tomato and lentil soup was the tastiest I've ever had: home-made by Green Yard, it looked good...too. Similarly, my jacket potato was top-notch. Fluffy inside, with a proper-crispy skin. Yum. Generous size + varied salad. I had it with baked beans and a sausage. The others all opted for dishes off the specials board, all v good too. Teas, coffees and soft drink: superb. Everything is good value. Thanks to all here - love it! (Green Yard is just off the high street - look out for their A-board. Park in any of the nearby car parks, access is fairly level, toilets are good.)More

I had met a friend from Devon dog sitting in Bridport so we were having a beach walk then finding a dog friendly café for lunch - The Green Yard was exactly what we had in mind. Very fresh good quality food, not expensive, friendly...staff We arrived at 12:20 and found a table, tje whe place completely filled up within a short time, the couple on the next table were local, they said they eat there at least once a week. We had home made soup with a cheese scone, and oven baked potato with salmon and cream cheese Parking for non locals - we were lucky enough to find 1 hour spaces on the road, there is a car park on tne other side of the main road which is not accessible from Barrack Street, could be best to park at East Street Car Park in Central Bridport and walkMore

Great food, coffee, staff & atmosphere- we’ve visited each year when we’re on holiday, never disappoints. Gets busy, sometimes need to wait for a table, but definitely worth it- a great little place

Sentimental occasion lunch for one. Phoned to reserve a table that was agreed, but not actually still free at the time I booked. I appreciate that Saturday is a busy time but it was so disappointing to find that my custom is not actually valued,...even though I had two courses. It's great food, but I obviously won't be missed - contrary to the welcome I was given on previous occasions.More

Come here every month from Exeter and always visit this lovely cafe. Today brought our adult son and dog. We love the friendly vibe and the food is excellent so much so that our son will return bringing his family when in Bridport again. Helpful...service from the owner and young man working there. Consistently good.More
