Sorry, Jamie, couldn't resist pinching your delightful homespun wordplay...and as I continued my onward journey following our lunch stop at the George Inn in Chideock earlier today, I amused myself by repeating the word over-and-over in my mind with a Geordie accent (for obscure reasons...More

We held our 40th wedding anniversary party here and we had a wonderful time. Jamie and staff looked after us admirably, from red flowers on the tables,1970's music to excellent food and service. Our thanks to everyone for making this occasion so memorable.

The food was excellent quality and locally sourced fish. Cooked to perfection which we wolfed down. Staff were attentive and polite, lovely friendly atmosphere with really ambient setting. We will eat here again when in this area, mussels were perfect.

Staff couldn't have been more helpful or efficient. Cosy dining room, and excellent food! The venison casserole was very, very tasty. With some other pubs in area becoming very twee and overpriced, will definitely be returning to The George Inn from now on.
