five of us went to The Dolphin for their carvery on Easter Sunday lunchtime. The food was excellent, three choices of meat, plenty of veg, roasties and yorkshires, gravy. A plateful to satisfy anyone. The staff are friendly and approachable and we had a really good lunchtime. Don't go if you want silver service or top of the range treatment,... More

We tried this before Christmas as we saw very cheap prices being offerred for Christmas day lunch. We tried it but never went back. It was not very good.

Clearly lacking in investment. Grubby. Carvery may be good, who knows? I wouldn't eat in an establishment that looks so very dreary. If this place gets any repeat business I'd be very surprised. Best bet? ....give it a swerve.

Good pub food, served in a friendly way at a reasonable price. No frills, unpretentious traditional pub. Unfortunately, not what folk seem to want these days!

Driving past and seen the sign outside for a Sunday Carvery, as we were having a spontaneous day out we thought we'd stop in. We were given a very warm welcome and the food was outstanding!!! Plenty of choice, we were not disappointed. Have only rated 4 out of 5 as the place is outdated and not the cleanest establishment... More

Passing by whilst on holiday and spotted the £6.50 lunch sign. Not expecting too much we decided to try it. A more extensive menu is available but we selected a curry and a scampi dish from the £6.50 selection. We were both pleasantly surprised by the outcome, very tasty. I followed up with sultana pudding and custard ( not included... More

My partner and I were drawn to the place as it sported a Les Routier sign outside. It has not held the accolade for many years. False pretences? The place needs a good maker over.

I'd heard good things about the carvery but it's not something that I eat. It looked really good and those that had it, enjoyed it. Another friend and I chose from the menu. My lasagne was tasty with a nice salad however the garlic bread was exactly that, just bread. Limp and not crisp with not even the slightest hint... More

Visited for an evening meal on a Friday . We walked into an empty restaurant and were told we could have any table....none were booked which was a bit disconcerting. We decided to have Gunness and the landlady said it would be a few minutes as it was a new barrel. When it arrived it wasn't pleasant and I decided... More
