Food menu was expensive so we had scones. We wanted hot chocolate but was told they do not do it so we had coffee which was very weak and after one taste we left it. Garden was a delight

Great setting, tucked away and very relaxing. Great food, freshly made to order. Friendly team of staff and owners look after clients very well. Really can't speak highly enough of the Mermaid - and will return when next in town!

Went here for a cream tea and strawberries and clotted cream which were fantastic and the young girl who served us was very polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend going to pay the mermaid a visit whilst on Portland.
