Told by a local about the Salt Pig we decided to give it a try. Very good, locally sourced food. A good mix of wholefood, vegetarian and meat dishes for lunch menu at the time we visited. The day we went I coulldn't honestly say...More

We visited the Salt Pig today for a family Sunday lunch. I’d read some mixed reviews on Tripadvisor but all of the food reviews were good so we booked. I’m so glad we did. It’s a fantastic find serving local produce. The chef was friendly...More

As someone who’s an aficionado of breakfasts this is as good as it gets. I even ate the tomatoes (yep that good and fresh). Sausages and bacon heaven. This is real locally sourced food, well cooked, well served and very much appreciated 😎

Expect to wait a very long time to be served and to get your bill. The team here think it’s more important to smile sympathetically than to serve food. Shame as quality of food is excellent.

Sadly it seems the long term chef has left. The Sunday lunch was adequate with well cooked veg but lacking the flavours and no sauce on them. The meat was hugely disappointing. Rolled lamb which seemed almost to be mutton which was strong in places...More

We were pleasantly surprised when we had a quick snack in the Salt Pig on our arrival at Wareham, Thursday afternoon. The food was all fresh and very tasty and plenty of it. We would certainly go again.
