What a great experience, it was a gift from our friends. So busy tonight but that did not distract from the service. Great meal, piping hot, wonderful atomphere, just like dining in someones home. Thank you so much.

Wonderful meal out for ten of us. All our starters, mains and desserts were great. Staff are very friendly and the restaurant is a gem. I had the vegetarian sharing board to start with, really tasty and also a good size portion. I then had...the veggie burger which was also incredibly tasty. Wine choice is good tooMore
Another wonderful meal at the Wimborne Pig. Haven’t been for a while and great to see Bouillabaisse on the menu now which was delicious. And the cheese soufflé is a legend among our friends! We had a great time - thank you.
We had booked here in advance due to its close proximity to where we were staying. Straight away it had a very cosy and pleasant feel with tasteful, seasonal decorations. We tried locally brewed beer and gin. The member of staff was very friendly and...explained the specials board to us. She also gave us plenty of time to decide as all the options sounded great. The three of us had different starters and had no complaints at all. Good size (not too small or too filling) and very yummy! We also had different mains, which again, did not disappoint! I had the main from the specials board of duck with a beetroot rosti (my favourite part of the dish - so flavourful and different to anything I'd had before) with kale and a cherry and port jus. I can't stop thinking about this dish!! It is clear local and seasonal produce is used here which is always nice to know. To satisfy our sweet tooth, we shared the chocolate and caramel tart with a coffee - also delicious! We thought the flavour combinations and ingredients were fresh and different but not to the point they were excessively extravagant or pretentious. Enjoyed this meal so much, it encouraged me to write my first ever TripAdvisor review. Will definitely come again if in the area and could not recommend more!More
We had an excellent meal here. I had the vegetarian options and both courses were excellent. Great ambience and attentive staff.
Visit the Wimborne Pig and you will not be disappointed. Seating on 2 levels, super ambience, tastefully decorated with very comfortable seats. Friendly staff, delicious food beautifully presented.
Superb, friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. They immediately arranged for 8 of us to eat, after being let down by a previously booked venue, who refused to take cash. The food was amazing, atmosphere perfect. Rare to find a quaility indepenant restaurant, also...vegan friendly. We'll definitely return. And they take cash!More
We wanted to book for dinner but they were fully booked so we decided to go for a late lunch. The food is delicious, the service is good. We enjoyed our lunch here and would return. The restaurant is small and with the proximity of...the tables, your experience might be influenced by how loud other guests might be.More
Amazing. Went after the theatre which is opposite. Had set meal as a trial as not been before. Everything was just bang on. Excellent quality food and service . Worth every penny. Ambience is smart but not overwhelming. Booked to go again before we left.
On our second visit, we took valued friends and all enjoyed great service, excellent wine and absolutely superb food. A mix of regular and special dishes, the whole plaice was so succulent and the venison the best ever! Our friends want to rebook on their...next visit and we will certainly be back in the meantime.More
We have been before , it was good . This year even better Decent considered wine list Full bar service too Short seasonal menu , changes by the month Daily specials on the board Vegetables come from the restaurants own allotment Meat and fish sourced...locally Atmospheric dining and hospitable service Reservations necessary to secure a tableMore
My other half and I went to the Wimborne pig for our anniversary and it's was absolutely amazing. The service and eye for detail was great and the food was incredible! We would really recommend coming here but definitely make sure to book in advance....If we had to give a negitive the only thing would be that we asked for the bill and it didn't arrive so we did have to go up to pay when we were ready to leave, but that was such a small thing and really didn't matter because everything else was just wonderful.More
We had the most wonderful wedding day made perfect by the service and incredible food served for us and our closest friends and family by Kym, Jamie and the team. With the attitude that nothing was too much trouble, they made us comfortable at every...turn and we will be forever grateful for this. All our guests enjoyed the outstanding food that was tailered to our special day, with relaxed atmosphere and impeccable service it was exactly what we had hoped for. We can’t recommend enough!More
Don't be fooled by the cleverly worded menu and the pleasant interior, the sole aim of this restaurant is to get people in and out as quickly as possible. They even put a note on your table telling you what time to leave. This is...totally unacceptable. It has been a long time since I dined at McDonalds, but I doubt even they do this sort of thing. Despite booking a day in advance, we were given a 90 minute time-slot which meant we could have a starter OR a desert, not both. As for coffee after, forget it. The have aspirations of grandeur but serve burgers as well. They have to decide exactly what kind of restaurant they are. You can eat a burger in 30 minutes, but try getting through 4 courses and a bottle of wine in an hour and a half. To cap it all, the vegetables were raw. By that, I don't mean 'al dente', I mean raw. They obviously didn't have time to cook them.More
We went to the Wimborne Pig on a Saturday evening. The restuarant is cosy and was quite busy with a good atmosphere. The service was friendly and helpful. We shared bread and olives to start and both had the catch of the day (arctic char)...with vegetables and new potatoes which were all excellent. We were quite full but decided to share the baked Alaska for dessert which was slightly disappointing as it wasn't that baked which made it more rich and filling. The bill came to approx £115 including service and a bottle of wine. We would happily return if we were in the area again.More
