Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a gem of a family-run restaurant where the only thing that surpasses the food is the service. Graham went out of his way to make us welcome and his knowledge of wine pairing introduced us to new choices that we would never have...considered. The meal was both memorable and inventive. Local produce with modern flair. Very welcoming and great conversation. The connected bar has equally welcoming staff, Laura and the bar man were wonderful. It’s lively and the locals make it. You need to get out and support this local business, it really is the best of Arran under one roof!More

The restaurant is superb with friendly staff, food and drink was excellent. We choose the tasting menu was not sure about some of the components of the meal - it was a bit different. Owner was excellent was able to recommend wine to complement the...meal. It is not cheap - and would say the dishes are very small but well presented. Chef came out and explained each course - a nice touch.More

As an indulgent treat for my wife's birthday we chose LTN in anticipation of a fine dining experience. We chose the a la carte menu and with the owner's recommendation were able to pair fine European wines by the glass with each course. The quality...of local ingredients and the technical expertise of the head chef were of the highest standard. Presentation and blend of flavours and textures with each course merited a Michelin star. The quality of the meal and wine represented very good value for money.More

Food was well prepared - portions small ( e.g., my ‘rack of lamb’ was 2 lollipop lamb chops for £36) but very flavorful. Service was okay - no flexibility on cocktail preparation - only what was printed on the cocktail menu. Bread was offered, and...it was charged as an a la carte item. Several items on the menu that were not available. Dessert was very creative and tasted good, frankly that portion was better than the entree. Took a long while to get our check. In a nutshell, the food had good flavor but the experience was underwhelming for a not inexpensive restaurant. Signage on the exterior was small and not readily apparent.More

Wonderful tasting menu and excellent wine pairings. Difficult to pick out a favourite dish but for me it has to be the 1st course ‘crumpet, onion and truffle, beetroot pickled shallot, burnt onion ash.’ Really beautiful food. Excellent service too from a team who obviously...respect each other and enjoy their customer facing roll! A standout meal and worthy of the accolades.More

I thought long and hard before writing this review as I don’t like to leave bad reviews for small businesses in these tough times but I really did not enjoy my experience. And am surprised to see the large number of 5 star ratings. Front...of house is not good. Our table was sticky and marked. The decor is poor. And the strange way of our main waiter made me feel quite uncomfortable. Timing was rushed. The food was generally good. Quality of ingredients was high. The plates looked pretty. But I felt it was overly pretentious presentation and some ingredients were overworked. My biggest issue was portion size however. I have eaten at many Michelin star restaurants and other good restaurants and do not accept that the portion size at Brodick Brasserie are reasonable based on price. For instance, the rack of lamb main course ordered at around £35 contained only one small full size cutlet and one part cutlet. At best a quarter of a very small rack. I did raise this with the waiter who while distinctly over bearing most of time simply shrugged and walked away on that occasion. The older gentleman who greeted us when we were arriving and leaving was charming.More

We booked here in May for my birthday dinner treat on 5 August. When booking we made staff aware we were vegetarian (initially we’d wanted to have the tasting menu but were told it wasn’t available). On the night we had just one option for...starter and one for main. Sadly there was only one starter left - rather than being offered an alternative it was us who had to make a suggestion. We weren’t offered anything instead. The bread and olives we suggested were welcome (don’t go if you’re hungry!) Main was interesting and delicious. Service tried hard but was either far too quick or disappointingly slow and doesn’t pair with the high end meals and menu on offer. Neither do the surroundings or atmosphere or being taken to the rowdy bar next door to pay. Cheeseboard and cocktail was the highlight of the meal (& most filling!) We spent a vast sum of money for what ended up being a hugely disappointing experience which did meet or live up to expectations.More

A little gem of a place. We almost missed it as it’s not overtly advertised but so pleased we found it via Tripadvisor. A true casual fine dining experience and very modestly priced for the exceptional quality. We had three courses from the a la...carte menu and felt entirely satisfied when we left. We were very well looked after by the friendly and professional staff , thank you. Highly recommended! Had we known sooner you also serve meals in the bar we would have visited for lunch too. A welcome alternative to a somewhat generic offering at Auchrannie (which is a fabulous place to stay).More
