Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Don’t go to this place, myself husband and granddaughter would go here every change we got, we went yesterday for lunch and I ordered the gammon salad as it was worth the money, I wouldn’t say that anymore it’s now not worth the money same...price for less no cheese, no coleslaw, pineapple like it use to be the salad is like something out of a ready made bag boiled egg over cooked, I went to the supervisor and complained! I got my money back and sent the salad back, we will never go back here again I know that most restaurants are down sizing on the meals to save them but not lowering the price witch is a joke if your going to take things from the plate down the price as well don’t charge the same price???More

My sister and I had lunch here today. The place was busy but the staff were friendly and efficient. We both had the macaroni cheese and chips and it was delicious. It was served to us quickly. No complaints.

Love coming through for Lunch every couple of weeks. My favorite is the breaded haddock and my husband loves the chicken fillets. Never have room left for a dessert. The staff here are lovely I cant praise them enough.

Hadn't visited for a while and to be honest the food was definitely of a lower quality than the last time we visited We both had toasties with a side order of chips and it was quite tasteless and the chips were the skinny type...that don't taste great and get cold really quickly and my cherry scone had chopped cherries on the outside but there seemed to be none inside Always enjoyed a trip to Christies hope that this experience was just a one offMore

Quality of food has gone down hill, they used to do lovely chips, not anymore, tried the chicken and mushroom pie today, chicken and mushrooms were floating in a watery sauce, couldn’t even call it a sauce, and was tasteless, we use to enjoy a...lunch time meal here, not anymore.More

Service was fine. Scone Ok but the coffee was undrinkable. Supposed to be a flat white which should be strong, but was very weak , warm milk with a slight hint of coffee. Won’t be back.

First visit and won’t be the last. Toastie and Panini were excellent with just enough salad on the side. Cakes were also superb. Tables were spotless and staff very efficient.

Deep fried bacon swimming in oil that goodness knows when it was originally cooked shattered when you put your knife and fork near it. Sausages must have been the cheapest sausages known to man. Really bad I've had a lot of cafe breakfasts on my...travels over the years, but this was by far the worst ever. Disgusting.More

Food was terrible, I got a toastie that came with dry salad and a bag of crisps, 7 quid. Wife got a panini that was very much the same. Kids mac and chips was just ok. Cakes were just ok. We sat outside and all...the tables were still dirty and cluttered from the last people. For just shy of 50 quid I would have expected a lot more.More

I was pleasantly surprised with Christies, as a whole. A place we regularly pass without knowing it’s there, this was indeed our first visit. It won’t be our last! We met some friends for Breakfast in the restaurant. Although a little bit pricey (hot drinks...not included with the meal), the experience was really good and the Breakfast equally so. We had a very little wait and the staff were friendly at the till. Walking around the centre it was deceiving how big it actually was - certainly looks smaller externally. Plenty of lovely gifts on offer, an array of plants to buy and an outside area available for children to play (this was closed however - warmer season opening times I believe). Without a doubt a good local business that i’m sure will attract the regulars and tourists for many years to come!More

After the traumas of lockdown, my wife and I have been taking the opportunity to revisit various restaurants and teashops which we have enjoyed in the past. This time it was the turn of the Teapot Restaurant. Great value - two lattes and two fruit...scones for under £9. The fruit scones in particular were very good but a bit crumbly. I was also impressed by the fact that a member of staff, noticing that I had mobility issues, pointed out that they only had available tables on the upper level and asked if I would be OK. Little things mean a lot! Although not local, we will certainly be returning to this venue.More

Hi, I am a coeliac and was very disappointed today when I came along for coffee at 1230 to find the only choice of sweet thing I could have was a large meringue that was looking very lonely in its own. This was after one...of your servers told me that all the cakes in the three cakestands at the front, were in fact all gluten free. This included raspberry sponge, cupcakes and a stand of another. I queried this three times and was told, "yes they are gluten free ". Thankfully another server came to my rescue and said that, in fact, none of them were gluten free. I am a coeliac and this misinformation could have had very serious consequences for me. I thanked the knowledgeable server and asked what sweet thing I could have, only to be told that the one meringue was my only choice. This is extremely worrying and disappointing. I chose a coffee, whilst the other 4 people in my party had scones and cakes. Had this not been an arrangement, my husband and I would have left. Can I ask if you do carry out training for your front staff , due to the severity of the consequences on coeliacs. Can I also add, that this my first visit since before lockdown for the very same thing, when I was given a salad with gluten in it. I found this out when I asked your manager if I could see your allergen menu. Your manager at the time was very apologetic when she told me that the allergen menu was not up to date, and that she would rectify this. To come up against this again today does not fill me with confidence unfortunately. I am sorry to write this message, however, I am sure Christies take customer service feedback seriously.More

Yes but I would avoid at all costs! The food was terrible as was the service. There is also very poor social distancing in place.
