3rd visit to this lovely place for lunch . Good food and coffee when it came. They were unusually busy and struggled. But being served one’s food / soup and having to wait some time to get cutlery despite asking twice not the best ....They acknowledged and apologised. We will be back . Lots of lovely gifts for sale in the shop.More

Really nice place to take your family/friends for a nice day out for brunch, very good atmosphere. Love the wood burning stove its a lovely touch, and keeps you cosy and warm. The food was scrumptious! Brilliant customer service, felt very well looked after on...our visit. Very much looking forward to returning!More

Myself and 4 friends booked the festive afternoon tea, upon arrival we were shown to our table and offered drinks. These arrived in no time at all as did the amazing selection of food, tasty sandwiches with the delicious cranberry sauce and so many bite...sized pieces to choose from. The waitresses topped up our tea and coffee when asked and duly offered us boxes when they noticed we were struggling to finish the food, this was a nice touch as none of us wanted to leave it. We couldn't fault the service, even though it was busy and we all agreed the afternoon tea was good value for money. The cafe looks very inviting with its real fire and lovely decorations. We shall definitely be back again.More

Myself & friends went for coffee & cake around 3pm yesterday, we were served as soon as we walked in and the women as very friendly (I cant remember her name) She took our order and we were served within 5 minutes. The slice of...Coffee & Walnut cake was lovely and we also had a slice of biscoff millionaire which was heaven. Everyone who was working was very friendly and made the atmosphere was very nice and relaxing. The fire was on which was great to see in this cold weather and the café was very lovely and warm. The Christmas decorations are beautiful. Would highly recommend.More

So disappointing. The cafe is such a lovely environment but the afternoon tea was absolutely terrible. Dry chunky sandwiches, that were really uninviting and unedible The pastry was completely stale and fillings tasteless. The cakes were like there were for a kids tea party with...skittles and sprinkles. No tea or coffee was offered. For such a simple thing to get right, I was really disappointed.More

Visited for lunch . The service was good but the Cullen skink was below average… very watery and lack of fish . The quiche was nice but massive salad … less salad and maybe some coleslaw and dressings rather than lots of greenery would improve...the dish . Was disappointed really as we have been for after tea twice previously and the afternoon teas are amazing !! So if you do decide to visit opt for the afternoon teasMore

They brought two of our hot meals to table before soup. Hot meals returned to kitchen and soup served. 3 Cullen skink, watery and a scotch broth, nothing special. The hot food and two salads were then served. Two salads were OK but not food was...disgusting. Gravy and mashed potato was solid and pastry on pie was dry. Other not meal the chips were cold and burger bun dry. The old good part of meal was the drinks but we had to ask twice to order more drinks. Mentioned to waitress on paying her answer was I'll tell the kitchen no offer of a refined for any of meal. Won't return and will warn others of bad experience!!!More

The description of the meals on the menu do not match what is actually served. The salad was from a supermarket's packet, scattered on the plate. The bread of the warm panini was soggy as if the pesto and bread had spent considerably long time...together before being served. I have eaten here before and was much better.More
