Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My experience was abysmal to say the least. After a bit of a wait, our order was taken, but we were given no warning that we'd have such along wait for the food to arrive! About 40+ minutes later, our meals arrived, but what a disappointment!...I had ordered Haddock Supper, very pricey at £16.50 ! I could not believe the fish I was presented with, I don't think a smaller haddock exists ! It was the tail end of a "baby" haddock, about the size of 2 fish fingers which had been incinerated in a fryer!! I asked if it was a child's portion, not that a child should be expected to eat it ! The waitress apologised profusely and said a replacement would be ordered for me. About 20 minutes later, my meal reappeared with a more acceptable fish which I "wouldn't have to pay for!" However, having waited so long for my meal, my husband had finished his" skinny burger", which he wasn't overly impressed with, and my appetite being somewhat diminished by this time, I declined my meal and we left, never to return!!!More

On a very blustery day, I was glad of the Beach Hut and we received a very warm welcome from the busy waitress, at the door. We were allowed to bring my friend’s dog in and were immediately seated. A choice of tables was a...nice touch. I had left myself short of time so asked the waitress how long our hot dogs might take. 5-10 minutes, and she was spot on. Food came quickly, even though the Hut was full, and the waitress was so polite and smiley and made light of her busy shift. She is a real asset, making us feel relaxed. Our food was perfect too. All round, a lovely experience. I’ll be spreading the word.More

Lovely location, the sun was out so we sat outside. Only one member of staff on who told us we'd have to have take away cups for our drinks outside. No problem, then they appeared in crockery ones. Almost fell over when she asked for...£8.50, £4.25 per coffee, almost £1 more than any other coffee shop! Was expecting a wee biscuit, or a mint or a little peice of toffee to go with them, for that price. Nope, just the coffee. I've searched and can't find hot drinks prices anywhere for this place, so have to wonder if they make the prices up as they go along! At least it was a decent tasting coffee!More

We had been sitting waiting to be served but the owner decided to severe a couple he knew who came in after us. A young boy eventually came for our order after asking him. Two coffees half empty and cold as they were on the...counter for ages before the boy picked them up. Soup was so salty we could hardly it ...main course never turned up at all. Told girl at counter the main meal never arrived so got money off of the bill for the main course. A absolute shambles...needles to say wont be going back.More

Had a lovely time at The Beach Hut on Saturday night for their Steak Experience! Such good value for money, the food was delicious (especially the tomahawk steak) and very friendly staff. Live music going on in the background also made it a fab night!

After a wet and windy beach walk was happy to see this cafe open and dog friendly. Great friendly service and a bowl of water was provided for a thirsty dog. Great breakfast and coffee

Can't beat the beach hut for good food, range of beers and service. A great place to stop off with the dog for either a pint or a bite to eat. So lucky to be able to live near by. I recommend the Korean chicken...burger with a side of fries. Oh and washed down with a pint of windswept.More

Visiting for the first time today for evening food, can’t recommend this place enough. Amazing food, great service with the beautiful views of Lossiemouth. We had the O.G Burger and Fish and Chips which was awesome! Will definitely be going back!

The Beach Hut is a great place to go for lunch, they do smaller plates for those who aren’t as hungry. I would suggest better signage and a way to keep the place a little warmer.

My wife and I were on holiday in Moray and dropped into The Beach Hut for the second time last week. It is an excellent informal diner with a great menu, excellent staff and superb views - and it is great to find somewhere that...is dog friendly! I would also like to say thank you to the waitress who dealt with the slight issue with my burger professionally and swiftly. A great little place and I would be happy to return!More
