Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Such a welcoming place. The coffee was delicious, the best I’ve tasted in a long while. The cakes were yummy. All the local crafts were of a good quality and reasonably priced. It is great to see someone supporting local businesses. I do hope that...they get the success they deserve. It’s a place I would visit regularly if I didn’t live 600 miles away.More

A gem of a cafe with a brilliant atmosphere. We stopped here when the Orkney Fossil Centre’s cafe was unexpectedly closed. The cafe was busy but with the turnover of people you didn’t have to wait long. Sadly, however, no gluten free cakes amongst the...large selection.More

What a find. If you are visiting Orkney, be sure to go - it’s brilliant! A really lovely cafe and tearoom with a modern look, and calming feel. Not only does it have the best coffee in Orkney by far, it has a brilliant balance...of Orkney and Egyptian produce, which makes this a really exciting place to pop in for a snack, lunch or a main meal. Plus they have a wide range of impressive cakes and high quality local crafts and a very friendly welcome. It has excellent parking and lovely views. Polly Kettle is a fantastic stop off while exploring the south mainland of Orkney - simply go!More

In the midst of my Orkney tour, my guide Marlene suggested we stop into Polly Kettle to refuel with cake and coffee, and it was the perfect spot. I ordered a hot chocolate and a slice of chocolate cake - both were a good size...and delicious. The owner was friendly and the cafe very clean and inviting. I loved looking at all the Orkney crafts on display (they're also on sale). Highly recommend!More

A great place for a light lunch. The very friendly owner can talk you though all the menu options and tell you all about the craft items and artwork on sale here too. Nice location just above Burray village. On the main route so it...doesn’t even require a detour!More
