We were on a tour boat traveling around Britain, and it had little British food nor any specialties of the areas through which we were traveling. So while docked in Stromness, we visited the Ferry Inn, hoping for a local seafood experience. We got it!...More

Small hotel with comfortable rooms, exceedingly well maintained and refreshed each day. Friendly staff. Pub with great atmosphere and restaurant which was packed every night we ate there. As the restaurant was already booked on the night we arrived, we were able to eat in...More

We were so greatful that the staff were able to squeeze us in for dinner on the night we arrived. This ended up being one of our best meals in Stromness. (Because we stayed at the Ferry Inn, let me also say the breakfasts are...More

Service is not the strong point here; for one of the older waitresses For instance after waiting some 30 mins for our pre prepared cold starters it is always annoying to see the waitress coming out the restaurant chomping on some chefs scraps. My crab...More

Definitely worth a visit if you are in Stromness. Though it looks like an ordinary pub, the food was incredible. Family had the lamb and ale pie, the lamb shank, the fish and chips, the salmon and the roasted vegies. No one wanted to share...More

Wonderful choice of ales, most from local breweries and a good menu. Would advise pre booking for evening meals or you may have a long wait. Cheerful waiting staff even though they were very busy

Generally good tasty food well served, but staff-in-training who appeared occasionally confused or clueless led to some serving glitches. A lively place, very popular, needs a reservation and readiness for crowds and noise. A jolly place with the regular staff working hard to keep it...More

The restaurant gets extremely busy, so book in advance. We were staying round the corner and it took us several days to organise a meal. When we did we were impressed. The food is pretty standard pub fare, but with good quality ingredients and served...More
