We ate here on a Monday evening and enjoyed it very much. The covid precautions were well executed. The staff are friendly and the service was efficient.
There is an extensive menu selection of freshly made traditional and international cuisine. The food was tasty and plentiful, with excellent portion sizes. The restaurant also caters well for coeliacs and vegetarians with the menu clearly marked for them. The staff were very accommodating to one of our party’s dislikes.
At the time the restaurant had also extended the “eat out to help out” scheme which made it excellent value too. It should be said that even without the discounts, the menu is well priced.
I have no doubt that when we are next in Crieff, we will eat here again.

We had dinner at Craobh after having spent the day walking the local hills and we were ravenous.
The restaurant is welcoming, stylish and modern, with ambience provided by music which was played at a low enough level that diners never had to raise their voices to talk to each other.
Staff were pleasant, well presented, attentive and knowledgeable.
The "small plates" on the menu were surprisingly large portions; far larger than the small starter courses we had anticipated.
Mains were truly gigantic portions.
The quality of the food was excellent.
Each of us in our party ordered a different dish and we all agreed that everything served was of superb quality.
The only downside is that due to the first two courses being so large, we had no room for dessert. In fact, none of use managed to finish our main course(!)
I'm sure that the desserts are just as good as the rest of the menu, and perhaps we'll find out next time we visit.
Slightly smaller portions for starters and mains would have allowed us to enjoy the full menu.

As a group of friends we visit regularly, the menu is perfect, plenty of choice and so much care is taken for those with intolerances, most dishes are properly gluten free. Indeed the changes mean we rarely have the same meal twice, every single one is stunning, beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious!
That said, the haggis scotch egg is on another level again! Also the steaks, highly recommended, so much care is taken to ensure that the very best dish is sent out every time. A real treat.

We met friends here to celebrate their wedding anniversary and had a thoroughly disappointing meal. My husband and I will always ask to taste a sip of one or two wines on the menu to make a choice of which bottle to order and this is the first time we have been refused. As it turned out our choice of wine to have a glass of was not great as the wine was ok but not very cold at all. Thank goodness we didn’t order a bottle. When we asked questions about the menu (what seafood was in the dish I wanted, what veg came with the beef, etc the waiter guessed (wrongly) and didn’t seem to have a clue what the dishes on the menu were composed of which I find very poor. He did go and ask the kitchen but when my husbands meal came and he asked if his potatoes were just coming (as the waiter said the dish came with green veg and potatoes) the waiter rudely said that it didn’t come with potatoes and if it did it would have said on the menu. The food was tasty but I will not be back as there are far friendlier places to eat in Crieff some of which have better food too.

Hello,
I'm truly sorry for your bad experience here at Craobh-kroov, can you please drop me an email to info@craobhrestaurant.com and we can discuss the matter further. I have had a reshuffle of staff members in the front of house and it's been trying to say the least. After 4 months of lockdown and furlough it has been hard to get things going.
King regards and best wishes

So glad we picked this venue for our final night meal. The menu gave us amazing choice and the freshly made high quality produce gave us fine dining quality food but with the informality and relaxed dining. Dress up or dress down, we could also bring the dog in for our last night. Our waiter who was on his own was fantastic and helpful (sorry we didn’t get his name) and running out of Diet Coke didn’t bother us at all as we enjoyed the Prosecco instead! And for a little one they could not be more helpful, basically whatever we asked for if they had it they’d make it. Thank you and good luck during these hard times for restaurants. We felt super safe.

We enjoyed our dinner here - the venison and the lamb were both perfectly cooked and there was an interesting wine list. Service was friendly and efficient. We'd have given it 5 stars if the Covid awareness had been a bit more meticulous. Tables were a bit close, and as we were seated near the service area, we could see that the staff were a bit sparing in their use of hand sanitiser.

Hello OptimisticWander
Thank you for your kind Review on the restaurant, the tables have been placed in a fashion so the customers sit back to back and have a meter between them, as for the hand sanitiser there are 3 hand sanitiser stations out of sight, one as they enter the kitchen, one in the back bar store and another at the kitchen service hatch. I shall raise this with my waiting staff but in front of myself in the kitchen they apply it before taking food and after they leave the kitchen from returning items from tables.
kind regards
Stuart

Stopping in a nearby cottage so booked for this lovely restaurant with great reviews. There was 6 adults and 2 dogs as we sat down welcomed by friendly and helpful staff as we put our order in. I had chicken with haggis and sweet potato gratin at £15 which was lovely and well presented as was all of the dishes including lamb at £14. We also had sides of vegetables at £4 and fries at £3. Puddings were all tasty and homemade varying in price from £3 for a scone to sticky toffee pudding at £6. Bottles of white wine cost £19 which was of good quality and went well with our meals.

So I post a review with the intention of helping others decide on whether to visit a place based on why we actually go there. On this occasion it is to eat and so here is my honest opinion based on the food and the atmosphere of this restaurant .
We were staying at a top rated hotel while we were in Creif and after a massive disappointment regarding the standard of food we decided to ditch the hotel and head into Creif town in search of a better experience.
We happened upon Croabh which is in the centre of town on the square. When we entered the restaurant ( yes all covid rules were being adhered to ) we were met by a pleasant waiter who managed to fit us in fo a meal.
The restaurant itself is really cosy but very smart and exceptionally clean. We ordered food and drinks, no draught beer , but a good selection of wine and bottled beers and spirits.
My wife had Beef Stroganoff which was beautiful and I had the lamb on ratatouille with Olives and I have to say our food was absolutely stunning. This meal was what I would have expected to have been served in said fancy hotel.
The staff were extremely attentive and the overall experience was extremely good. I would thoroughly recommend eating here and for sure if we are in the area again we will be back.

What a fantastic find! This lovely restaurant is a bit unassuming from the outside but inside it is relaxed and comfortable. Staff are friendly and the menu boasts such a varied choice of dishes that it makes it difficult to choose what to have! The duck with black pudding was lovely and beautifully presented. The duo of beef equally good. Wine was reasonably priced and at just the perfect temperature to enjoy. Service was attentive and prompt. A real bonus for us was that it was dog friendly which seems harder to find for evening meals than daytime cafes. All round enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend a visit to Craobh.

Really hit the spot for lunch with doorstep sandwiches that you could add soup to for just £2.00. Loads of choice for vegans, veggies and carnivores alike.
Watch out the americano coffee we had was like rocket fuel.
Gorgeous surroundings, dog friendly.

I booked a table online, for 6, for a late Sunday lunch. Every single thing from online communication to the minute we walked out the door, was just fantastic!
Craobh is very welcoming, spotlessly clean and decorated in a restful and elegant way. The staff were genuinely warm and friendly and we really appreciated the knowledgeable and attentive service that never became an interruption.
The menu was varied and tempting and we ordered a range of soft drinks, beers, hot food and desserts during our meal. The Crispy chicken burger was brilliant - a truly crispy light coating and tasty moist meat at the same time. The salads were fresh and lightly seasoned with a good fresh vinaigrette. The fries were light and yummy too. My teenage nephews demolished their portions of fish n chips with gusto. Their chips were chunky and perfectly cooked and the fish was really good quality and battered beautifully. Amazing Biscoff cheesecakes, scones and coffees followed.
I don't usually rave so much but this place deserves it. We will most definitely be back, especially as it's dog friendly.

This excellent little restaurant has a varied and interesting menu with high quality food, including good vegan options, a decent choice of cocktails and wine, and very good service. Can recommend unreservedly. Shame it closes at 9 as we'd like to have stayed longer!

Our 2nd visit here and again an excellent experience.
Small plates ( starter) portions are large and could easily be shared between two, or ordered with a side as a main course. Having forgotten this nuance from our previous visit, this may be worth putting on the menu, or the staff explaining.
We chose crispy beef with irn bru glaze and haggis scotch egg, and both were delicious.
Main course trio of lamb and venison burger, again beautifully cooked and presented.
Wine list is exceptionally well priced, whites starting at £21 per bottle.
Ambience and service excellent.
We booked our trip to Crieff to enable us to eat here again and would encourage others to do the same!

My friend and i had lunch Saturday 5th February here as a Crieff girl brought back many memories of the "milk bar" staff very friendly and helpful but allowed my friend and i to sit and chat for three hours.
We had monkfish scampi which was beautifully presented and tasted delicious as did the deserts. I noticed loose tea was used not teabags which was excellent.
We were impressed with the toilets which were beautifully clean with ample toilet rolls in the basket.

Fantastic restaurant in every way: food is top notch - a dedicated vegan menu with a number of excellent choices is available, which is unusual and was much appreciated by myself. The staff are polite, very pleasant and attentive. The restaurant itself is nicely lit, comfortable and tables are well placed so you do feel you're in a space of your own and can enjoy a conversation.
Delighted to give this establishment a five star review - we enjoyed it so much, we returned on the second evening of our stay in Crieff!
