Absolutely wonderful dining experience. After attempting to get a table at another bar/restaurant in Dornoch “The Eagle” and the waitress turning us away making some snide comments as our party of 12 left, we went here and the whole experience was wonderful. We were served...by Ben who was 10/10- great customer service skills with a great personality and patience when dealing with a large party of people. Lovely restaurant with an extensive flexible menu. I had melt in the mouth pork belly with crackling & a cider sauce, advertised with fondant potatoes & red cabbage but I was offered roasted roots when I said I'm not fond of red cabbage. My grandson...fancied Nachos which were on the lunch menu so was offered them as a starter. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they were brilliant. Six of us had a 3-course dinner & couldn't fault anything. Would definitely recommend. We had quite a wait for the starters ir I would have given 5*'s.More

Great little local pub with a mixture of locals and tourists. Under new owners for a few years. Which was terrible for them as they bought it just before the pandemic. They used the closure to drastically renovate though and it desperately needed it. Great...food, reasonable prices and great service.More

It might not look its best from the outside but it's definitely worth a visit. I stopped by for lunch whilst visiting Durnoch and they served me a very tasty and warm mushroom soup (perfect for that cold and rainy day). The price was absolutely...reasonable and the waiter was very smiley and polite.More

Despite having reservations after reading some other reviews on this place our experience was good. Very welcoming friendly waitress who even organised a custom made plate of Sunday roast for a picky non veg eater! Delicious beef and lots of it although very few miniscule...roasties would have preferred bigger but the meat was faultless. Can only speak from our experience so I would recommend you give them a try .More

This was a very nice pub/restaurant we visited Dornach to play golf. The pub downstairs is charming, and the restaurant upstairs was very nice and looked like it had been newly-renovated. The staff was very friendly. It seemed as though they were getting used to...a new computerized system, so it wasn’t super efficient, but the quality of the food made up for any slight inconvenience. I had lamb at it was some of the best I’ve had. My son had been trying fish and chips throughout our trip and rated this place very high on his list. And of course the pints were flowing. Highly recommend a night here if you’re in town to play Royal Dornach!More

Recommended by golf club staff when they were fully booked. The service was off hand, disinterested and extremely slow. 4 diners and 3 of us said awful mains. The risotto looked and tasted as though it had been made with rice which was harvested about...a decade ago. The "rare" steak was so thin and over cooked that you could see through it and the Haddock tasted like cardboard. A restaurant of last choice!!!More

We are on the NC500 and someone recommended this restaurant well I must say that it did not disappoint. The food was very good and plentiful. Would come again and recommend.
