These are tables close to the bar in a less formal setting. You can order 3 courses from £27 as part of their deal and there are special dishes on offer. This is great value. At the start, You are given home made bread with butter which is good. But the wow factor was the accompanying home made pesto. It... More

We just happened on to this place because it was close to our hotel. Excellent food and service, more upscale than other restaurants we saw in the area. Definitely a good choice for a great meal, although a little higher priced than other restaurants in the area.

Spend a wonderful evening with friends last week for an early 60th birthday for my husband. Amazing steaks, great cocktails and finally coffees with petit fours in the drawing room by the fire to end the evening - fantastic. Would stay in The Lovat without hesitation and might just go back next year if we're fortunate enough to visit the... More

Our fourth visit to Fort Augustus and our first to The Lovat. The staff were super-friendly and really knowledgable about the whisky and other spirits they have. The food was superb, I loved their haggis starter.

Stayed at the hotel but arrived late with no plans for dinner so took the easy option of eating in the hotel. So glad we did everything from the service to the food was fantastic. We have been touring Scotland and are in some great places but this is the best so far. The beef cheek was cooked perfect with... More

For the area, this is the best restaurant we ate out during our visit to Scotland. We made reservations and were glad we did as the restaurant is not that large and a large party had been booked so they were turning people away who did not have reservations. The atmosphere is pleasant, contemporary yet casual – we didn’t have... More

This restaurant is also listed on TripAdvisor as Station Road. There isn't loads of choice on the menu, but everything we tried was superb. Wine list is fairly pricey. Beetroot cured salmon was meltingly tender and subtly flavoured, paired with salmon rillette and a horseradish cream. Mussels in garlic cream also very good. Beef cheek with mash and lacey potatoes... More

Just had dinner here as we were staying on a boat and we were very impressed. We received a warm welcome and were seated quickly to peruse the wonderful menu. There is not a lot of choice so maybe not ideal if you are a fussy eater but we though the food was fantastic, it is pricey but very good... More

We stayed 1 night in The Lovat Hotel and was told on arrival that the fine dining restaurant was full but the Brasserie had a table at 8.30. We had to wait for menus as they were short, they then apologised for the waiting time for orders to be taken as the kitchen was too busy with the other restaurant.... More

Excellent food and drink at the restaurant. We didn't stay here but did eat. We would highly recommend it. With views of the Loch on one side of the restaurant; the staff are friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back.
