This is nice for a pub supper and is located just by the locks in Fort Augustus so it is in pleasant surroundings. The chairs and tables are chunky wood and a bit hard for a long evening but that's a detail if you are just there for dinner. The food is nicely cooked and filling and well presented and... More

we ate here and the food was great and good value we thought. My daughter's fish and chips were fabulous and huge ! The atmosphere was warm and cosy on the cold days we had, the woodburner and fire were always roaring. Our dog was even looked after really well!

Excellent dinner at the Lock Inn; exemplary fish & chips, sublime steak pie, fantastic desserts. Very pretty pub with 2 roaring open fires on a cold January night. The waiter was so attentive & helpful, the owner welcoming and friendly, we felt quite at home! We had a lovely evening, and hope to be back some day...

I visited The Loch Inn during my visit to Fort Augustus in the winter. This was the only pub near the canal that was serving food at 4 pm. I went for a late lunch with a group of friends and was contended with the service I received. The ambience in the restaurant is cosy with a live fireplace aswell.... More

6 of us called in for a pub lunch late one afternoon and were greeted with a warm, friendly welcome and a roaring log fire. We ordered seafood chowder and various sandwiches with chips and we were very impressed with the quantity and the quality! Very good value and good size portions, well worth a visit if you're looking for... More

Very friendly popular Scottish pub. Nice and warmly with a welcoming open fire at one end of the building and a log burner at the other end. Excellent food very tasty and is dog friendly.

Just what you want to find on a winter holiday! Two wood fires, a warm welcome and delicious food. The grilled goats cheese was a surprisingly sophisticated addition to the menu, which we had at lunch - highly recommended. We returned for dinner and the slow-cooked lamb, also fabulous.

The food and the service was amazing! The food was super tasty and the pub take dogs. Lovely fire but you cannot pre-book so a bit disappointed as would have had a New Years meal as 5 adults and 2 dogs. The server was amazing! Made us feel very welcome. Setting so pretty. Worth a visit for sure!

Friendly pub in Fort Augustus towards the southern tip of Loch Ness. Nice homemade sandwiches and local beer. Pub is close to the canal which even in winter is a picturesque spot.

Huge signs hung out front marketing the restaurant inside so we fought traffic and parking to have dinner. Upon entering the inn the staircase to the restaurant was roped off and closed. Upon inquiring the front desk clerk was rude and dismissive. We entertained stating here for a couple of days but decided to leave. Not good.
