Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was fortunate enough to stumble across this when me and 5 other friends were completing NC500 a couple of weeks ago. We would all strongly recommend as the food & service was excellent, good value for money and the owner very generously gave us an NHS discount as 3 in our group were key workers.
If you want to avoid the noisy and smelly environment of a pub, this is the place for you. It was clean, cozy, calm and very friendly. The fact that they don't need to have alcohol on the premises, tells you just how good the food is!. Thank you for looking after so well!, and hope to see you soon in Lancashire! :)

Our whole family of four ate everything we ordered. Great rolls filled with quality ingredients. My husband loved the chowder soup and I enjoyed the tomato and mushroom soup. Cakes were divine and went well with the quality coffee. Service friendly and pleasant.
Will definitely return and would recommend.

We stopped off in Shieldaig on the way to Applecross for something to eat and were delighted after finding Stovolds. The smoked salmon chowder was delicious, staff very attentive and friendly and the place is very clean and has great decor right down to the bathroom. My son had to have 2 helpings of apple crumble and cream as it was so tasty. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

Came across this place when we were travelling the NC500. Stops were very few and far between and this was one of the only places we had saw for a while. The four of us ordered the Deli Meat Supreme sub. It was ok, but certainly not worth £10. We then had to ask a different server for a coffee we had ordered 10 minutes earlier after everyone had received it. She had no issues in grabbing it but the original server who walked around like she owned the place (maybe she did, she was the only one not wearing a mask) just threw us a dirty look.
Beautiful views, but seemed like the staff were very disinterested, and seemed to get annoyed at the simplest things. I witnessed one of the servers get visibly annoyed when a foreign couple asked if they served fish and chips whereby she just pointed at the menu, said no in a condescending tone and stormed off. Considering travellers are more than likely one of the main sources if business to this place, you would think they would be a bit more accommodating.

Had very good Smoked Salmon Chowder (a little too salty for my husband but I liked it).My cake was good too.Nice evening menu too.
Will be back but what was off putting was one member of staff, a lady who seemed to need to talk at the top of her voice all the time, bellowing out this that and the other, even while she was on route to serving someone at a table. Bizarre and off putting!
It didn't help the ambience in what is a fairly small space.
Some good music playing (for a change), when we could hear it above the din.

Super little gem in Shieldiag. The coffee and cake in the day time was excellent, but the evening meal was even better. Nice small menu offered something for everyone. I went the amazing pork 3 ways hotdog - not usually something I’d choose but really impressed with quality - it was definitely 5* food with a great twist. The lemon tart was equally amazing. If you get the chance definitely give them a visit!

We were on our way to Ullapool from Applecross and stumbled on this gem. Sat outlooking onto the Loch, it was beautiful. Food delicious, I had porridge with Heather Honey and fresh cream, it was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this cafe, really modern and clean, seating inside and out, staff were very nice and service excellent.

I found this place by accident whilst I decided to drive down to the waterfront . I had not had breakfast and decided to stop . It was gorgeous sunny day and I sat out on the front porch area. I ordered the pancakes and cappuccino. Wow . It was delicious. Both the food and cappuccino were first class. The sunny and nice view helped . Anyway loved it . For what it is worth the toilets were exceptionally nice and clean. Only one thing disappointing is that it is so far away from where I live. I am already craving the pancakes . Great stuff folks and keep up good work .

Stopped here for lunch after walking the Shieldaig Peninsula on our NC500 adventure and had some lovely fresh food prepared for us. I had the soup (courgette and mushroom) which was absolute delicious and my fiancé had the smoked salmon chowder - the smoked salmon came from the local smokehouse!
Really lovely cafe, good service and friendly staff.
