I just wasn't expecting this level of food and service in Scotland. The food was so tasty I had prawn and monkfish curry and it was lovely. Really tasty and fresh. The menu was quite varied and would suit all tastes. But the clincher was the staff. They were attentive and nice and chatty in an unobtrusive way. The guy... More

Visited one Friday evening in February. Seats about 40 persons and about 20 were taken during the evening. Very comfortable, friendly staff, and excellent service. Food was delicious, scallops, lamb and creme brulee. My wife enjoyed hers immensely too - prawns, venison and creme brulee. Wine (merlot) was very good and not expensive either. If you are looking for a... More

Visited here while staying in srathperrer for a couple of days. Initial impression was that the interior was a bit bare (no table covers for example) However really changed my mind. Staff very friendly and efficient. I had prawn skewers for starters which were brilliant. Probably the best cooked prawns I have ever been served. Hubby had scallops which were... More

We have enjoyed 2 lunches here this week. The quality of the lunch menu was superb, with attentive service and going the extra mile. ( I require a gluten free diet). We were staying near Inverness but it was definitely worth the drive. The steaks were cooked and tasted of perfection!

Hubby and I booked for dinner here this evening, first time we have eaten here. Both my hubby and I thought this was the best evening meal we have had whilst living here in the highlands for over ten years. The food is truly Michelin star quality and the staff are friendly and yet professional. The restaurant is very clean... More

Heard much about Red Poppy, but never got round to visiting till today. After a walk up Knockfarrel with dogs we dropped in for lunch, and pleased that we did. Good service, good lunch and good price. We certainly will return for diner.

Second visit to the Red Poppy, first visit was a passing by afternoon snack. Returned for an evening meal and it did not disappoint, the food ( I had the venison) was cooked as requested (medium), nicely presented with faultless service in a nice atmosphere. There was a good selection on the menu to cater for most tastes, with gluten... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Red Poppy at the weekend, couldn't fault a single thing. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Plenty of choice on the menu. We each had 3 courses and were very impressed by every dish - not only did it taste amazing but was beautifully presented too. Great service and... More
