Excellent, laid back dining experience

Beautiful and tasteful restoration of original (1864?) railway building with bare stone walls and wood burner. Very friendly and helpful staff, food was excellent.... Highly recommended!!

Highlight of the Day

High point of our day trip to Dunrobin from our hotel in Nairn. 40 years of restaurant management in USA and this place excels in every aspect. Only thing I left wanting was a tall glass of Sweet Tea. This perfect service was definitely not...a fluke….a perfect example of perfect training from kitchen to table.More

Great weekend in Tain

We paid two visits to the Platform last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed both visits Normally, I don't use the word great, too often, but in this case, I will make an exception. Impressive lunch and coffee.

Stopped off for lunch while waiting for a taxi to take me on the last leg of a long journey and was really impressed: the best coffee of my entire holiday and a pretty good toasted sandwich too! Oh, and in the run-up to Halloween...they had two of the most impressively-carved pumpkins I have ever seen!More

Great food

We walked in without a reservation. The food was fabulous- great menu, well presented, absolutely delicious flavours. Service a little perfunctory.

Excellent afternoon tea in a lovely setting

Afternoon tea was lovely, nice selection of sandwiches, cakes, scone and sausage rolls. Great price for what you get, and even got a box for our leftovers. It's decorated really nice throughout, with railway memorabilia. Staff friendly and nice.

Amazing time!

The locally foraged wild mushrooms in the risotto are gorgeous! Great food! Very generous portion! (Could barely walk after a simple two-course meal!) Lovely service too! Will definitely come by again when I’m in Tain!

Good dinner

A remodeled old train station. Food was very good. We all had different items and all were happy. Service was good. Nice find after Glenmorangie distillery.

It says on their Facebook page that they serve breakfast but maybe safer to call them first. I've only ever dined in evenings there.

I had my dog with me when I was there during the summer it was a lovely day so we sat outside .im not sure if the dogs are allowed inside tho
