Go while you can - we had lovely food with friendly service and a marvellous view down to the cliffs and the sea. But the owner is selling the hotel in mid October so you will have to hurry!

Our lunch at the Spiggie Hotel was such a wonderful experience. The proprietor and staff were so friendly, and the food was fresh, local and fantastic. We started with a drink in the cool little bar area, then moved into the restaurant for lunch. Our table had an amazing view over the loch and ocean. It's a small place and... More

This hotel with friendly staff is a very good site to have dinner. Located at a quiet spot on the south mainland, you're guaranteed to have a fine dinner. Don't forget to reserve, allowing the staff to have ample time to make you a very good meal! We have opted for typical Shetland food with freshly caught fish, potatoes and... More

Excellent food and nothing is too much trouble. A limited diet was not an issue for Keith and his team.

Thats ok we said... there were 8 people in the bar, with another 3 following us. The bar area was lovely... More

This is a lovely spot, overlooking Spiggie Loch, near the coast, Foula in the distance on a good day. The restaurant has the views, but the bar is cosier and you can eat the same food in it. The main courses are beautifully cooked, with some unusual ones like Moroccan stew along with the staples like haddock and chips. Some... More

We visited Spiggie Hotel to have a bar lunch and found the staff and owner Keith to be very friendly and helpful. The menu had a large variety of local produce which was very well cooked and presented. The portions were very generous for a lunch menu. Lovely lunch! The bar is very small with leather sofas offering a comfortable,... More

My wife and I ate an early supper here after a long day touring sites in South Mainland which ended up at St. Ninian's Isle. We were seated at a table with a view to the west. I had the shepherd's pie, which was made with lamb (as the name implies) rather than beef as in the US, and was... More
