Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We still love the relaxed, friendly atmosphere here after many years and a range of owners. Today’s tapas and cocktails were no exception. Help is there if you need it and then they let you enjoy your meal. It’s a gem! They tweak it to...make improvements and try new things but maintain a high standard for all tastes. The staff are great. Thank you one and all.👏👏👏👏More

Top rate food, excellent service and good value for money! Staff were really friendly and knowledgeable regarding dietary requirements which when you are GF / Diary and egg intolerant can be quite difficult but we both found lovely meals. It was a lunch stop and...we weren’t drinking but their selection of Gin looks amazing! Restaurant clean and tidy, toilets excellent!More

Incredibly varied menu, charming setting and friendly, wonderful service. Went twice in two days... once with a group of four... again, with 12 of us. They could not have been more welcoming! And the food was great... from traditional items like steak pie and fish...and chips to Indian, Thai, pizza, burgers... all terrific...along with a top-notch bar!More

It was pouring with rain in Biggar that night and the Crown was the nearest place to where we were staying. Lucky choice as this is a great pub with a cosy feel - very friendly. Good food, nice people and a pint. I rest...my case.More

Called in here completely by chance on our way back to England from Scotland for some lunch - and so glad we did. The staff were super friendly and attentive and service is quick. The menu is extremely extensive, featuring both traditional and more alternative...and interesting dishes. There really is a dish for every palate. We were spoilt for choice! I had the steak pie and the wife had twice cooked pork belly, and both were divine. We left extremely full and satisfied. The quality of the food is exquisite, proper home cooked, the portions are a good size and the prices and very reasonable - the perfect recipe for a successful food business. Well done to the owners and don’t change a thing! I cannot recommend the Crown Inn highly enough.More

A really good dinner across all our dishes. A great atmosphere, and given it was Friday, an effective service. Great beer, and kindly staff. We'll done!

Really disappointed, we have been during the week & had fantastic service & food. Went Friday night 14/07/23. Service was extremely slow. We weren’t able to order pepper sauce for the steak, it had to have whiskey in it. So makes me think that everything...is pre made and is a microwave meal. The food is one of the worst a table of four collectively agreed was horrid. Risotto and Salmon was still swimming but in a bowl of oil, if you like that thing. Steak was full of fat. Mashed potatoes were over done or kept under the heater too long.More

We were staying close by and liked the look of the menu when we were walking around the town. We were shown to a table and the waitress gave us menus and asked what we would like to drink. th food was very, very good...and the portions were good. The staff were all friendly and we would recommend this place for a meal if you are in the town.More

Very large menu with great variety. Meet at the door and immediately taken to the table. Friendly staff. We are unfortunately not dog friendly so dogs being in the pub is not what we look for. So just for us this was the only negative.

Husband had the fish and chips……was not entirely happy with it….developed food poisoning within an hour and was violently sick and ill for 24 hours! My vegetables also undercooked but I survived! Pricey for bad food! Beware!

I don't believe they do rooms no. I would either recommend the Cornhill House Hotel or Tinto Hotel for around the area.
