We stayed in Bowmore over New Year and on two occasions had dinner here with our baby. Lovely staff, warm and friendly welcome with a really nice atmosphere. The place is really spacious and modern inside, and very reasonably priced for what you get!
The best thing though was the food - my highlight was the ‘black and red’ pizza which was adorned with loads of black pudding, goat’s cheese and caramelised onions. The Parma ham and scallop pizza was my wife’s choice - and getting eight Islay scallops for that price was brilliant value all told. So all in all, if you’re fancying a nice dinner in a relaxed, pleasant setting then give this a go. We’re evidently not the only ones to have enjoyed our time here. Try the Islay Ales Stout while you’re here too...

Located in a converted chapel Peatzeria has loads of character and is clearly 'the place to go' in Bowmore as even in the middle of February it was very busy. We ate in the gallery and received friendly and attentive service throughout. Our starters were tasty and my wife's bruschetta was particularly good. An interesting range of pizzas are on offer and we chose the fajitas and the ham and cheese. The good value pizzas are cooked well and were mostly enjoyable however the lashings of topping did make it quite a challenge to finish them. It's great that Islay has its own Italian restaurant and I hope it continues to do well.

We ordered a selection of pasta, pizza and salads. The food was absolutely great; my daughter still raves about the mezzaluna months later. Desserts were good too and because we couldn't decide between the various desserts and ice cream, we had to come back the following afternoon to make sure we got our ice cream fix too! The staff were all very polite and friendly and put up with us having to switch our booking arrangements fairly last minute.

We used Peatzeria twice during our recent short stay in Bowmore, once for a takeaway pizza, and once to eat in. Both were very good experiences and we'd have no hesitation in returning next time we're on Islay.
Ordering the takeaway was quick and easy by phone, as was pick up at the appointed time. The best part, however, was the quality. Unlike so many takeaway pizzas, this one had substantial toppings, which were well prepared and tasty. Excellent value, and good eating.
Our eat in meal was also very good. The menu has a selection of Italian style dishes, at very reasonable prices, and my linguini with pork and beef meatballs was very tasty, with good flavours, and was also of a generous size. Friendly and helpful staff and service, and good Covid procedures. We enjoyed our meal.

We arrived and asked if we could take away for to not booking a place to which the waitress agreed, we then saw the outdoor seating area was empty and asked if it would be possible to sit and eat there, the waitress seemed reluctant but went and checked and let us sit in the conservatory area. She then appeared and said we could no longer sit there and had to eat outside. We didn’t get any cutlery or napkins with our food had to ask for drinks and in all honesty the waitress just seemed like she couldn’t be bothered with us. Shame as we had only heard good things about this place!!

We enjoyed an excellent meal at Peatzeria. We opted to share the salt & pepper squid then had mains of pepperoni pizza which had a delicious crispy base with lashings of cheese and extra jalapeño peppers, as requested. My main was the special dish of the day which was equally delicious. It was a seafood, lemon and cream ricotta pasta. Absolutely delicious. We washed it down with a very reasonably priced Pinot Grigio. Special mention must be made of our superb and talented young waitress, Katie McTaggart. My wife, a senior leader, trainer & manager in a major global airline, commented on how customer focused & engaging this young waitress was with the customer. Well done Katie. You are highly talented with a great future ahead. Keep up the great work. You are a credit to Peatzeria and the hospitality business. We recommend Peatzeria and look forward to a return visit when next visiting Islay. Highly recommended for casual & relaxed quality dining.

Since Peatzeria opened whenever we have visited Islay we visit this restaurant. The staff are so lovely, they remembered our little boy from the last time we visited & were totally accommodating with our baby. We had the pepperoni pizza, vegetable pizza and mushroom pasta on one visit then antipasti platter, chicken fajita pizza on a different visit. As always food was fantastic, there was generous toppings on all the pizzas and proper chicken slices (none of that rubbery nasty fake chicken) ☺️ The outside space is lovely with the views, I’ve been to a lot of restaurants on the island and the view/outdoor area at peatzeria is beautiful. Only thing I would say is if you’re wanting to visit it can be difficult so you need to book in advance for lunch, take away slots but dinner especially as it’s popular with tourists & locals. See you next time!

Warm welcome from Sharon having booked earlier on day. Pleased to see Islay ales on the menu and whilst troubled by small number of starters I needn't have worried as pizzas were amazing. We chose from menu standards with my wife on Std base and myself on the focaccia. Both had great taste and look/smell. In better non CV19 times this would be a great place to sit outside with a burner and beers/pizza, but as it was we both thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Really excellent Pizza made to Naples standards. I asked for mine without tomato sauce and cooked as a white pizza with creme fraiche and they obliged with a smoked mussels and salmon topping... yummy!

Great place, interesting pizzas. Only criticism is the 'lobster and prawn pizza, which at £26 should be a tad special, came with only a few fragments of lobster and cold, tiny prawns. The veggie pizza however was amazing, ha ha!

The restaurant was very busy, but we were served remarkably quickly, clearly well organised and experienced staff. All but one of the group had pizzas which were fantastic, proper thin and crispy with generous toppings. The other had pasta filled with salmon and crayfish I think, but her words "the best pasta I have ever had". Being a large group we wanted several different bills, and they were happy to provide several copies of the bill and for individuals to pay their own calculation of what they owed. We all left very happy with our evening and more than happy to recommend and visit again.

When I saw the option of a seafood pizza, I knew I had to eat here. The menu has a wide selection of options, even if you don't want a pizza. The staff were attentive and the venue was a welcoming venue to spend a couple of hours. The food was nice and plentiful.

Our friend who’s a regular visitor to Islay recommended Peatzeria as a “must eat” but we were really disappointed. The squid, wine and service were excellent BUT The pizzas were only luke warm and the dough not properly cooked (v pale crusts, not melted cheese) We were there very early for dinner so maybe the oven wasn’t at full temp but the pizzas were very “meh”.
Staff were lovely and put up with our grumpy baby throwing food all over the place so can’t really fault them, think we just got a bad night!

The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating with great views from the latter. There is an excellent selection of pizza's to suit all dietary requirements with a choice of bases. The Bradan Rost and mussel pizza was fabulous, succulent mussels with smoky salmon. Good choice of wine and Islay beers with excellent service and really good value for money mean it is a must visit restaurant.

We arrived approximately 3.30 pm famished after a round of golf only to be asked to leave because they were preparing for dinner. Others were there dining but we weren't welcome. Thought we'd try again this evening and again were told that they were closing and could only choose from their to go menu. The time we arrived this time was 8.30 pm a half hour before their last order time of 9 pm and a full 1 and 1\2 hour before their closing time. By the time we walked home the pizza's were cold ‼️
Very disappointed!!!
