Wandered into cafe and had a wonderful assortment of cakes to choose from - highly recommend the Mojito sponge cake! Lady came & chatted to us even though other (clearly locals) were in, and had we found it earlier we would have been back daily!

didn't get to try the coffee or cake. We arrived 12mins before they closed for the season. The lady behind the counter was very grumpy. I asked about take away coffee, but after another snippy reply I just just left with my parents. I was going to let this whole bizare incident go. I thought that perhaps she was unhappy... More

We called in for coffee late morning, our two kids (6 and 4) were a bit "active" having just scored some toys at the charity shop. Two tables were marked Reserved as it was getting towards lunchtime. Despite us saying we would take the coffee at the outside tables and also despite having two excited kids and there being other... More

Delicious lunch served to myself and 3 kids. Tomato and Basil soup was the best my niece had ever tasted - her words! Exactly what needed and all served with a smile! Eaten hear a lot and never disappointed! The lemon and parsnip cake is to die for! I had wanted the chocolate florentine but someone got the last one... More

My friend and I had breakfast at Arlene's, the food was delicious and the tea was good too. Lots of interesting things to look at in the cafe including all the very tempting chocolate. I would have given 5 stars if I'd been served with a smile and felt my custom had been appreciated

Rarely have we been to a tea shop with a more miserable staff behind the counter. We both chose different cakes which were stale and inedible. The basic hygiene for the handling of food and cleaning of the coffee machine were absent and the coffee bland. Avoid this place and go to the cafe nearby. Or go without!

From the outside looked good and a nice display of cakes on the counter. Inside, two of four or so tables reserved ( for what ??) and the lady behind the counter disinterested in helping. I stood there like a prune for about 3 minutes whilst she gossiped to a departing customer, who actually got to go up after I... More

Thank you for your review. We have ALOT of repeat customers and locals that use us almost everyday, hence why 2 tables were reserved, as people book them out so they are guaranteed a table for morning coffee and lunches. I don't see why this is an issue for you, they were reserved for people who had phoned up. I... More

Quite peculiar, wasn't sure to score a 4 but I left feeling as if I had somewhat been an annoyance to the lady behind the counter so 3 it is. Walked in around 3.15pm, waited a few minutes to be served. By the time my cake and Hot chocolate were prepared it was approx 3.23pm. At which point I'm told... More

Thank you for your review. We feel 15 minutes is an ample time to drink a hot beverage. But in your review you failed to mention that after ordering and paying for your order, you then went to 'settle your debt' in the next door charity shop, this could have taken 5-10 minutes. Which is probably why your drink was... More

A very cute little cafe. We had coffee and filled morning rolls which were both delicious. There's lovely art works around the room, amazing looking home made chocolates and music playing in the background. I've marked it down on the lack of friendly customer service. Like every other place we visited on Mull (with exception of Bunessan Bakehouse), the serving... More

I'm sure Arlene's response to my review will be that of hostility and complete distaste, but if the Trip Advisor shoe fits, maybe you need to take a look at how you run your business instead of blaming the customers that pay your bills (which seems to be the case for every negative review you receive). I've never encountered a... More

Thank you for taking the time to make the paragraph review on your 5 minute experience. It's funny how you always remember the customers that are going to make a review. You have written this review and slated our business and how I should run it. You say I should take notice of these reviews? So let me explain as... More
