Good fish and chips and friendly and approachable staff. It was a rainy day and the table outside has no umbrella so we had to eat in the car which we don't mind. But keep in mind that you will have no place to eat outside when it's raining.

We ate takeaway from The Chippy a couple of times on our second trip to Portree. The quality of the food is wonderful and the cost of the food is great for the travel budget. We'll always get the fish and chips from here each time we're in Portree!

Don't believe the opening hours on here. We arrived just after closing time (people still in the shop waiting for their food so only just after!) and the owner was very rude. The food smelt terrible and if you're a vegetarian don't even bother, everything is fried in beef fat. Try the harbour chippy just down the hill instead, much... More

We arrived late in Portree and was really hungry. We spied 'The Chippie'. Being fellow Scots me and my husband opted for 2 Haggis Suppers. They were delicious, served piping hot and the chips were proper tatties. I only gave the Chippie 4 stars due to the fact that when eating our suppers outside at the benches the wheelie bins... Have been waiting since arriving Saturday to try some fish and chips. The other half went to get some last night. Really disappointed the fish didn't taste fresh i'm not a fish fan but him in doors loves to fish and eat his catch and he was not impressed either. There wasn't a chip between us it looked like fried... More

Calling to this excuse of a chip shop ordering Pizza with extra topping being handed back money as toppings had been forgotten, being handed a burnt pizza which was soggy and hardly fit for consumption. The service was no better than the food, a very large obtuse man took the order shouting and loud with himself his staff and customers.... More

Needed lunch and with two wee dogs this can be a challenge. Suggested the Chippie to the family and sat down on the benches. Chipper for four arrived for a very reasonable price, both the fish and the chips were excellent, large chunky hand cut chips with just the right amount of salt and vinegar. As good as the chipper...
