Visited for lunch and found the prices for pretty nondescript Italian food out of the box. 2 x Arancini, (2 small balls of rice floating in tomato sauce), £8.95, each. Garlic Bread with Cheese £8.25. 2 x Lasagna, lumps of pasta with lumps of mince on top swimming in the same tomato sauce and coated with cheese £14.95 each. Spaghetti Polpette £15.95, Riso con Pollo, (risotto in the same tomato sauce) £14.25 and to crown it all £5.45 for portion of chips . 2 colas, fresh orange and lemonade which came as a small bottle of orange and a small bottle of lemonade, £2.25 each totaling £4.50! Total bill for 4 of us for 3 starters, 4 main course and 3 soft drinks, £102.70, ridiculous and the service was very very slow. The prices on the menu shown on their website is also out of date. Would not go back

xmas day lunch . well I am sorry to say we did not enjoy it but didnt feel we could say anything with it being xmas and we knew lots of people there . Also the family who own and run it are lovely but the meal was not up to standard . it was processed pre cut turkey with one frozen soggy yorkshire . the turkey was cold with a bit of gravy . the veg was rock hard as not been microwaved enough. I had ravioli which was with a pink sauce and tasted odd . like ketchup . starters also poor but the best bit was the cold pre made rice pudding and pre cut slice of xmas pudding with condensed milk . I am saddened by the whole meal we wer enot even offered teas or coffees and we noticed same with other parties . also most sent there veg back .

Tried this restaurant today for the first rime. Pleasant staff, nice decor, clean and good ambience. Had to wait just over 30 mins for starters but the waiter did come and aplogise. Better timing for main course. The food however on both courses was excellent and very fresh. This isn't the cheapest of restaurants and the cost of soft drinks in particular really adds up. One slight downside was when the bill arrived it included service charge (normal) but when putting the amount into the card machine the waiter asked if we wanted to leave a tip which we thought was a bit cheeky. We will go again as the food was definitely worth it.

First time here but won't return. Came as a pre-Christmas treat family of 3. Seated promptly and offered drinks. Menu order given and seemed to wait ages on starter. People seated after us got their orders first. Starter was reasonable but very filling. Calamari seemed overcooked and was rubbery. Pate was very dry. We all had different mains but tasted some from each plate. The meatballs appeared extremely soft and a bit tasteless. Definitely not fresh and may have been frozen amd defrosted. Spaghetti bolagnaise was very mushy. Everything very overpowered with garlic (not unexpected in an Italian but this was over the top). Meals was just over £30 person (including very over priced bottles of soft drinks) but not worth it. Not sure if coincidence, but all 3 of us barely slept due to sore stomachs and have been unable to eat anything following day.

We visited this restaurant for the first and last time as it was my husband’s birthday and I wanted to treat him. At the time of booking (online) there was an option to give them additional information and I entered that it was my husband’s birthday. On arrival the restaurant was empty and I told who I assumed was the person in charge that we had a reservation. He checked his computer and indicated that the waitress would show us to our table, she walked in front of us put menus on a table and walked away! No can I take your coats or even move a chair out. We had to put our coats over our chair and sit down, after about 10 minutes the person in charge asked what we wanted to drink and also took our meal order. After around 15 minutes we received our drinks, they had been poured for about 10 minutes and were sitting on the bar whilst they both had an extensive conversation. Shortly afterwards the starters arrived. I ordered bruschetta I was a very large portion but I couldn’t eat most of it as in my opinion it was old stale bread that had been toasted, I couldn’t get my knife through it, I could only eat the middle and that was due to the fact it was saturated in olive oil and the garlic was quite overpowering. I love garlic but this was too much on a starter. My husband had arancini which found dry and in his opinion consisted of the wrong type of rice. The waitress just lifted our plates away didn’t ask if all was okay and continued her conversation with the person in charge. Our main course arrived my husband said that his tagliatelle papalina was okay although the portion size was quite small. I had the fusilli con Gorgonzola and was struggling to taste the cheese, the walnuts were whole and too many. During the main course I requested another soft drink, again this took an age, as they were chatting and inattentive. I actually had to ask the waitress to bring it off of the bar, she had forgotten about it, my meal was nearly finished. Again plates were cleared and no opinions were asked for on the meal. I requested our bill, it arrived with 2 sweets one of which looked like it had been taken out of the wrapper sooked and put back in. I pointed this out to the waitress and she said she would get me another one as it looked disgusting and she wouldn’t eat it, I told her not to bother. Even as we were leaving we we not asked if we enjoyed our meal or making any reference to my husband’s birthday. It has been a very long time since we have had such poor service and customer care and the food was so disappointing. I always like to support local businesses, however, I would not return to this restaurant.

It is a lovely looking restaurant and the serving staff were friendly. We ordered quickly but at first brought the wrong beer for my partner. The starters arrived and it looked nice however my arincini was thick stodgy rice with a slight hint of mozzarella. I can say it's the worse arincini I've ever had. We waited over an hour for our average tasting mains. Was very disappointed, I wouldn't go back and definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone who knows anything about Italian food.

They offer a very small and basic Childrens menu but do not offer Childrens juice, therefore you are made to order an adults soft drink/fruit juice. They do not have straws so my 3 years old had to drink out a pint glass with great difficulty!! Made a complaint about my food as I think every chilli in the place had been added to the sauce. I was told “that’s how the chef makes it”. Despite advising it was abnormally hot and inedible I was told that’s how it was! Disgusting. There’s a massive cobweb over the fire exit door, the place is filthy and the service is shocking. I’ve seen snails move faster!! 40 minutes to wait on drinks. If you value your time or your hungry, don’t go here!! We will NOT be back.

We were stopping by for lunch as we were on our way to our next hotel. There was Italian music playing. To my partners joy they played a song by Laura Pausini, which he loves. The staff member that took us to our table and served our table was very kind and helpful. We both had the tomato soup to start, which was good. Then my partner ordered the lasagne and I ordered the gluten free version of the pasta bolognese with parmesan. It didn’t come with spaghetti but I was informed about that beforehand and I didn’t mind. Instead it came with penne pasta. It tasted great and we really enjoyed our meal here. Every bite was incredible and the service here was great! It was just what we needed. Thank you :)

Nothing on menu other than salad and bruscetta was vegan! Very disappointing! Even the tomato sauce is pre-made with eggs so I couldnt even have that. No vegan pizza either. Disappointing and obviously won’t come back. You should at least have something vegan to offer people!!

I had the pepperoni pizza and it was burnt and hard. I'd have been better going to farm foods and getting one from there honestly. You'd have thought I was eating a led pencil with burnt cheese on top. Will not be back and do not recommend, unless of course your type of pizza is charcoaled pepperoni pizza.

Like a day or too. An hour wait for a pasta main. You’d be better going to a take away. Shambles. Head to Amore for a better service and save yourself the hassle of asking where your food is. The table to our left were drawing lots on who should be eaten first and the table to our right we’re contemplating sausage rolls from a take away. No apology no offer of a free drink just terrible. I was too annoyed to enjoy my food and honestly felt like walking out.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for our meal on Monday. We were very impressed with the restaurant; the cleanliness; the toilet facilities; access; the decor; the service; the food; coffees etc. The gentleman who seemed to be a one man band, managed everything from service to cooking to taking the bill, to making coffees so calmly and efficiently. He even took our picture. Applaud him for all that he did. So glad you were open Monday as many other places closed. 👏👏👏👏👏. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 One point, we found it quite cold in the restaurant, although quite well wrapped up. Aware that energy costs are ridiculous just now but for us, a cosy atmosphere is welcomed. In my experience customers are more likely to stay longer, come back and perhaps even spend more money. Thank you so much. We enjoyed our afternoon with you.

Went to this restaurant with my wife for an evening meal and were greeted by very friendly staff. The menu was quite varied , the food we ordered was served by friendly and efficient staff and was served at the right temperature. The restaurant was quite busy when we were there but it did not feel too confined although the 'background' music could have done with being turned down a bit. All in all a very pleasant dinner and we will return. Price was about the norm for this type of eatery.

I really don't know why there are bad reviews. I was brought up in Italian restaurants and my first part time job in the late 70s was waitressing at the oldest Italian restaurant in Nottingham I couldn't believe the chef here was not actually from Italy, the cannelloni was perfect, it contained a dense meat and spinach mixture not the catch all bolognese you often see, husband's carbonara was one of the best he has had, wine selection was small but a good choice. Lovely family run restaurant with friendly but efficient service. Highly recommended by an Italian food junkie.

We were met and shown to our table by a friendly waiter. We shared a mushroom bruschetta which was very tasty. I had smoked salmon penne in a creamy sauce and it was excellent. I really enjoyed it and it was an ideal portion size. My friend had cannelloni which she said was really meaty and tasted great. A tiramisu for pudding which again was really tasty. The restaurant has been redecorated since my last visit and it looks really bright and cheerful. The staff were attentive and friendly. All in all a nice evening was had.
