Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am fuming after a recent visit to this restaurant! I notice that someone else has mentioned how rude the staff are - I had to approach a young female who was serving behind the bar for help as no one was going to help...us find a table or a menu! She took great pleasure in telling us that we couldn't sit in the restaurant section, despite the fact that the bar area was packed! She rolled her eyes when was asked what was on the menu. We walked out and won't ever step foot in the place ever again!More

Decent food, relatively fast service bus incredibly rude and unfriendly staff that look and behave like they would rather be dead than be there. I'm still literally shocked by the behavior of some of the staff. Food is decent but overpriced for the quality you...are getting.More

We had a delicious lunch today. The service from Debbie and Mary was warm and friendly. I had a lovely chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich. I can honestly say it was the most delicious sandwich ever. My other half had the chicken burger. Thank you...to chef Scott.More

We went for breakfast 2 days running and oh boy what a difference a day makes the first day we were made to feel really welcome and the waiter was very friendly,on the second morning however it was a different story,we were met by a...very sullen woman who obviously didn’t want us there, she kept saying it’s going to be a long wait as we are serving residents first,if you don’t want or can’t take walk in customers then say soMore

We had a lovely evening. David was great. Everything was delicious and brought out in a very timely fashion. Despite the busy night with many tables to serve, David was friendly and cheerful throughout :)

Absolutely worst food I’ve ever eaten. 2 of us ordered mussels that were half cold in brown water. Either cooked in the microwave out a packet or terrible chef as the hunters chicken was also really bad, no flavour and hard cold fries. Plenty of...other nice restaurants around the town so I’d advise to stay well clear of this one. Only plus side was the pool table wasn’t too bad.More

Recently visited the Tullie for lunch with my sister, niece and nephew (they’re younger children and a high chair was required) Upon arrival my sister was organising things for my nephew to ensure that he was content and wouldn’t disturb other customers. The lady serving...us with blonde hair and glasses asked if we would like a drink. I asked if there were any fruit shoot for the children to which she just responded a blunt “no”. She brought over our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. We asked for another couple of minutes and she rolled her eyes at my sister and seemed genuinely annoyed that we were in having lunch with the kids. After this we got a sort of frosty reception and it really upset me. Maybe it’s because I have a background in hospitality I would never speak or act like this to customers but we felt completely uncomfortable and unwelcome and as if we shouldn’t have been there at all. Definitely wouldn’t return here which is a shame because the food was actually lovely and my sister is friends with some other staff members.More

Looking from the outside it looks very nice. The prices also lead you to believe you are going to get some quality. It was awful. Starters, mains and desserts all done in the microwave. If you’re on a holiday / small break away - don’t...waste your time going here, you would definitely be able to make something quicker and tastier at homeMore

Terry and I had a great couple of nights at the Tullie Inn. The staff were friendly, chatty and attentive. We had a great comfy spotless room. The food was great, the atmosphere was great (casual an relaxed). What amazed me most of all was...how the staff reacted and adapted to circumstances. Amazing examples of exemplary customer service. How do you react to a power failure just before breakfast ? Tell everybody what has happened, explain that alternative emergency arrangements have been made, apologise for the disruption, offer reassurance. How do you accommodate a diabetic's very restrictive and weird dietary regime ? Accommodate a pick and mix menu ! To summarise, we just had an amazing weekend. Thank you for looking after us so well !More

As an expat Glaswegian we decided to visit Scotland after 30 years of absence and chose the TULLIE Inn as a chance destination. What a great bit of fortune that was. Firstly the location in Balloch is stunning, the lochs and mountains filling a picturesque...backdrop and the locals could not be more welcoming. The rooms in the hotel are vast in size, a great price and the food is of the highest quality and wallet friendly. To a man and woman, the staff were incredible, and made us feel so welcome. I travel a lot but I can honestly say this was the highlight of my tour of Scotland. For those who do not know the region but want a 1st class stop over, the TULLIE inn will reassure you that you will enjoy your break stress free. Iron and board, hairdryer and great tea and coffee facilities in all rooms were great to see. I will most definitely make this my base when visiting family in the future with only a 20 minute commute to central Glasgow an added bonus. House keeping ladies were amazing as were all staff but as I only got two names I feel I should highlight these, young Emma and David one of the managers set the tone for an exceptional customer experience but the others were of equally high standards professionally. Thanks to all for a beautiful stay.More

Can't remember seeing a pool table. The restaurant has 2 sections : The eating section/side and the pub side. We were only in the eating side of the restaurant.
