We were staying self catering in Balmaha so obviously with the unpack and packing it is better to eat out. Oak Tree and its staff were brilliant. First night from sitting down to getting our order on the table (this at 16:20) was just 20 minutes and was fantastic in quality and quantity. We were so impressed we returned on... More

We were in the area for New Year celebrations and went to the Oak Tree for some drinks, the place is stunning, full of character and atmosphere, it also happens to sit in the most stunning location. Can't wait to return.

stopped here for lunch after a blustery walk up Conic hill which is a good viewpoint of the loch. We had cullen skink for starters and it was a bit less creamy than I usually find but good all the same, we also had the Stornaway black pudding and poached egg which was lovely, another starter and the Caesar salad... We love this inn. The food is always good as is the service, and it is a great place to stay. We lunched here today, the restaurant was so busy we had to wait for a table, but despite the kitchen being at full stretch our food was lovely and service came with a smile. Portions are generous with plenty... More

Very friendly staff. Nice choice in the middle of no where. Need to give special praise to the fish platter. Everything is amazing on the dish. Haggis is not our cup of tea but still very tasty! The decoration outside is amazing and the lack view is good for a photo before you take off!

I like this place. The food is good and the staff are really friendly. It is our stopping point to get something to eat after a walk on the hills. The fayre is the standard inn type which is what you want really. There are two seating areas, one is in the a main bar area, which has the traditional... More

We ate there two nights, one when we arrived (after 9pm) and the kitchen was closed so they had a pizza only menu, but it was very good. thin crust. On the Saturday we had a proper meal, everything was very good. You can eat either in the restaurant or in the bar, we sat down around 7 and we... More

A family run award winning Inn on the banks of Loch Lomond in Balmaha. Reachable by local bus from Balloch and Drymen. There's also a coffee shop and small grocery, gift shop attached. Love to sit outside in the summer or in the cozy bar with fire in the winter months. Food is excellent with choices for all, including a... More

I had been the the Oak Tree on a number of occasions, often for a drink after a walk in the beautiful surrounding countryside, and for food on a few occasions, too. As a pub, I really like it; they keep a good selection of well-kept beers on rotation, normally with at least one local brew. The beer has always... More
