We called in for a quick, light lunch. Wish we hadn't bothered. What a dreadful place this is, run by very rude, disrespectful staff who have no idea about customer service. We arrived and seated ourselves, ended up having to go up and place our order as no waitress came over to welcome us or take our order. Whilst waiting... More

I haven't been to Cafe 19 in a wee while but it is my favourite place to have breakfast in town. I have brought numerous people to this cafe for everything from a coffee to a full breakfast or lunch. It does have only a few staff but I like the fact that they remember me and my son. The... More

We were expecting a main meal in our hotel in the evening and so just wanted a light lunch. This place fitted the bill. My husband had a jacket potato with filling and salad and I had a toasted sandwich with salad. We each had drinks and the price we paid was good value. The waitress who served us was... More

Thank you for your post As you were clearly aware I was by myself and had a number of customers to serve. As chef, coffee maker etc until staff come in I can understand your angst that I was unable to serve and create a special table for you. Things not on the menu... sometimes we are beholden to our... We were on a coach tour of the area and the day's schedule demanded that we take lunch slightly early. We spotted Cafe 19 and, more importantly our driver emerging with a takeaway - it later emerged that he always gets his lunch there when in Helensburgh. The staff were friendly and welcoming and service was quick. We both had... More

We had been out for the day up Loch Lomond round by Arrochar and stopped for lunch in Helensburgh. on the main road spotted this small very clean, easily accessed cafe with great menu. We had the home made soup, beautiful hot lentil, with sandwich, choice of tuna, ham or cheese, brown or white bread. the sandwiches were fresh made... More

I felt I had to write to say how much my two friends and I enjoyed our lunch here today. I went in with some trepidation, as I had heard mixed reviews. However, we had a delicious and hearty lunch. One had soup and sandwich - lovely, tasty homemade soup and fresh sandwich, the other two had different paninis, both... More

My wife and I visited for lunch. We were initially slightly perturbed by the slow service but the young server had just started that day and was probably more friendly and helpful than I ever was on a first day at work with all that that entails! It isn't 5* dining but doesn't pretend to be - my 'all day... More

Called in for coffee at 3pm on Wed, met by a greeting of "only drinks and cakes" we said we only required a coffee. Only two in the cafe, staff then started clearing up round about us so felt like we were keeping them back. Looking around made me feel I was glad I was only having a coffee, carpet... More
