Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We came as a group of 6 for the new Sunday lunch menu. We were not disappointed!! Each course was as delicious as the last - the crispy chicken terrine was a favourite. As ever, the food, the atmosphere and the staff could not have...been better - looking forward to the next one already!! Well done guys 🙌🏻.More

A regular, local visitor to the Cafe. First time GBM Cafe have offered a Sunday roast and simply couldn't fault it. The best Sunday roast I've experienced in a long time. Well done everyone and particularly Jordan, front of house - you're a 🌟 Your...poor wee legs must be aching - what a boy! However, everyone working in the Cafe deserves a medal.More

Best coffee in Helensburgh! We went to this cafe 3 times while in Helensburgh for the weekend, the breakfast were excellent, I had a roll n sausage my whfe had poached eggs on toast, my roll was so good I had to go to the...butchers that supplied the sausages to buy some! I can highly recomment the lime and coconut cake and the iced gingerbread, it was so good we had to stop off on the way home to get take out.More

I came in for the Burns Night Dinner and will say it was one of the worst meals I've ever had. Everything from the black pudding (a special) to their irn-bru chicken slider (which tasted like something you could have got at McDonald's) the plates...were abysmal and expensive. Lovely staff. I think therefore I expected more. But should have known better when a bakery/cafe sells old bread and croissants pretending it is baked on the day. Really, really disappointing!More

This is a really lovely cafe with really welcoming and friendly staff, Cullen Skink crepes were a new find and their chefs invention and were delicious, soup too was really good and the coffee was exceptional, husband was having to guard his gooey brownie from...us and large piece of carrot cake was inhaled by our teenage son who is a connoisseur of all things cakey, the lovely waitress (Spanish i think - apologies if wrong there!) was so lovely and asked us where we had travelled from and was genuinely interested in us and our day, it really made our day out to Helensburgh to see The Hill House very special and we plan to come back soon - thank you Ginger Breadman!More

What a fabulous experience! From the minute we walked through the door we were made to feel really welcome by the staff. We ordered flat whites (which were smooth and tasty) and scrambled eggs and bacon which were absolutely delicious. The chef talked to us...about the how they baked their own cakes and bread (sourdough was delicious) and sourcing food from local suppliers. What a delight! A great experience all round and we’ll definitely return. Highly recommended.More

Friendly staff with interesting menu and good atmosphere. Love independent cafes like this - staff were welcoming and attentive and facilitated gluten free choices. Menu has good brunch selection and the food was cooked to order by a chef who knew what he was doing....Prices were reasonable for the quality offered. Would definitely return.More

This little café near Helensbrough seafront and station is a wonderful place. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and efficient. The flat white and tea we ordered were great; sometimes, flat whites can disappoint, but the Ginger Breadman's flat white is creamy...and velvety smooth - exactly as a FW coffee should be. Best of all were the delicious cakes - the brownies were truly exceptional and we wish we could have stayed to sample all the treats on offer. There is seating inside and a few benches outside too. Ideal for friends, solos or small families. Wholly recommended.More

What a wonderful place. The welcome by delightful people is a joy, and the service is friendly and informative. The menu isn’t huge but all food is locally sourced, flavours are delicious and each day there are specials. Prices are very fair - absolutely recommend.
