This should be a great cafe. The location is good, there is ample custom and the staff are friendly. Unfortunately, as per many cafes and restaurants in the Scottish tourist belt, it is a pretty mediocre affair. Not bad, but devoid of any real attempt to be great. We happened to be sat with a bird’s eye view into the kitchen. Which revealed that our “home made soup” was sourced from a Knorrs carton. The jam for our cream tea was spooned out of a Tesco value strawberry jam jar (rrp £1.25). Add to this the tired decor, the cobwebs across the ceiling and support beams. And a toilet system designed by a madman (basically try every handle until you find a vacant loo) and the experience was cemented as a letdown. This place could be so much more. But sure they do well striving for mediocrity. Just an embarrassment given the number of tourists that must think this is the best Scotland can offer.

Stopped for lunch at this busy coffee house/eatery. We had spicy soup which was served quickly. It was delicious and came with a large chunk of bread. They clearly take their Scottishness seriously the male staff wear a kilt and the crockery has tartan on it.

Visited the cafe on a day trip to loch Lomond. People are complaining about the price but it is in a very busy spot and I didn't think prices were extortionate for the quality of the food . Everything is freshly prepared and generous portions my son had the soup and said it was delicious one of best soups he had ever had and it came with a big chunk of fresh crusty bread my ham sandwich and the quiche was great too .Staff are cheerful and friendly the food is served very quickly and hot . We are more than happy to recommend it

We feel very sad and disappointed after our visit. We are more than happy to pay a fair price for quality food and appreciate the prime location and its associated costs. However this coffee shop is a rip off. The prices are an absolute disgrace. £4.20 fruit scone butter jam (cheap catering jam not homemade) £3.90 for a tiny piece of cake (see photo) £3.50 for a glass of Coke To be fair the staff are lovely and that’s the one credit that the place has. We were greeted with a friendly face and we have no complaints there. It’s just sad that we won’t be returning. The place was quiet and no wonder. We would happily have returned if it wasn’t so expensive. Instead of repeat business they are just looking to rip off tourists.

We visited for a drink and snack which were very nice although I was genuinely shocked at the £4.50 charged for Peppermint Tea. Even more shocking was the behaviour of one of the dogs present. During our 30 minute stay it barked repeatedly and its bark was horrendously ear piercing, akin to audio torture. The owner kept on giving it treats and despite furious stares from other customers both dog and owner remained unbothered by all the misery caused. Surely there comes a point when such anti social dogs should be asked to leave?

Holidaying nearby and saw reviews so dropped in for coffee and cake…not raining so made the most of sitting in the pretty garden. Not sure of the system so went inside through the shop area to the cafe and cake counter, then picked a menu off a table to read and was rather rudely advised by a member of staff that as we were seated outside we had to go to the ‘take away’ counter…a bit awkward as the cakes weren’t there!..selected a cake and duly went to the shop/take away counter to order. The staff member then disappears to get our order (people shopping had to wait)..sadly if sitting outside food is served in take away boxes and paper cups..no nice china..3 small bits of cake resulting in three cardboard boxes going in the bin along with paper cups, not very environmentally friendly. For this reason won’t be going again

We have visited here a few times on our way to Forest Holidays in Arrochar. I don't really know why we kept going back to be honest, convenience really. We have a young child, the first time we visited he was under 2 and on our most recent visit the other day, he's now 3 and a half. The staff don't even as much as acknowledge him or us to be honest. I do like a place that will interact with young children but even a smile would have been nice! There's not many smiles at all or any chat, they just take your order bluntly and that's that. Anyway, the real issue is the prices. The prices are just crazy! Like I don't mind places like these having slightly higher prices but it's really just a rip off. 2 coffees, a scone, small square of sponge cake for my toddler, a small slice of millionaire shortbread and a small pack of tablet to take away and I was around £26. I think the prices are even higher than last time so unfortunately we won't be back. The menu is extremely limited and the cake selection seems lesser each time we visit. Millionaire shortbread was yummy, the rest was OK. Shame really, lovely little bit and cute little place.

Surprised at previous reviews re customer service. Our customer service was warm and friendly. Scone was heated on our request and came with all 3 butter cream and jam (and plenty of it). We ordered tea for 2 and we got 3 cups each from the pot and all was served in a lovely tea set which was on sale in the gift shop. Price of the tea pot alone was £79 so i thought this was a nice touch. Another few special touches were fresh flowers on the tables and a well stocked baby changing unit with nappies, wipes and even baby food available to help yourself!

Unfortunately the cafe was very busy so service took a while and they had run out of all bread so Soup and Stokies were out for us. They did offer a large plate salad with the stokie topping which wasn’t to our taste. So we ordered some cake each, I can honestly say it was by far the best Carrot cake we have ever had, we’re left glad that they didn’t have the stokies as we wouldn’t have had the delight of that cake and a good pot of tea.

We have been regularly visiting the Coach House for over 15 years & continue to return with family due to the lovely memories we've had over the years & the amazing quality of food & service we've experienced. Yes it has always been a little expensive but the quality has always been worth it to us however unfortunately our last two visits have been extremely disappointing & something has definitely changed. Our visit last month found us being served a roll that was definitely not the 'stokie' that we come for. We thought it was possibly just a replacement if they had ran out as we were a little later than we usually would be so although disappointed we decided to try again last week. Again we were served what I'd call a very slightly larger than average roll- absolutely not the 'stokie' we've come to look forward to. My daughters soup had so much oil sitting on top of it & the slice of cake was much smaller than we usually get. The service from the 2 ladies was still as good as it always has been which was lovely. I don't mind paying a higher price for good quality food however £4.90 for half of a roll with cheese for a child is disgraceful. The prices have understandably increased (the same as everywhere else) however the quality/value has significantly dropped so unfortunately we will have to start looking for another place to have our lunch on our regular visits to beautiful Luss.

We used to come here before Covid and were always assured of good plentiful food. Now it is just a tourist trap. We had a roll and cheese with a small spoon of coleslaw and a little salad and a ham roll with a few crisps instead of salad. The rolls are a fraction of the size they used to be and are £8.40 each. A pot of tea and a cafitiere of coffee with a slice of carrot cake and an apple betty with some cream. Price? £35. When paying, the suggested tip on the machine is 10% or 20% although it is possible to decline. Also, no detailed receipt is given, just a total. I've given this a 2 because the waitresses are attentive and pleasant but sorry, we will not be back.

We visited on the Friday and had a really beautiful lunch of soup of the day and the smoked salmon and cream cheese stokie. It was so fresh and tasty, we couldn’t stop talking about it the whole drive back to our hotel! We were also really impressed with the lovely staff. From walking in the door we were warmly greeted and this followed from each member of staff we encountered. They were so lovely to our little baby and talked to him/made him smile, it was really lovely to feel so welcomed. We loved the whole experience so much we went back on the Saturday for coffee and cake before our long drive home! Definitely visit if you get chance.

Very expensive, shoddy garden furniture to sit on outside too. While sitting at table outside waiting for our soup the girl serving us somehow managed to spill the whole carton on my lap, burning top of my leg. Obviously accidental, I was offered napkins to clean myself, eventually found a washroom? If it could be called that. Complained to manager on way out, I wasn't even offered a damp towel or a 1st aid pack. In fact, wasn't offered anything at all, not even a measly discount for my bother. Definitely won't be back. Terrible experience.

Visited with friend. Had enjoyed previous visit but roll today was overpriced and lacking in flavour .While I appreciate costs have increased, £7.90 for what was no more than a large flat dry salad roll is excessive and poor reflection on taking advantage of what is primarily a tourist clientele. Also disappoint to see that although the female staff wore masks at all times , the male server wearing his kilt obviously thought it was a mask for his chin and and no point had it over his mouth, despite greeting customers and serving food to customers.
