Ate at the slanj bar after hearing that they let motor homes overnight in the car park(if you are a paying customer). We got a very warm welcome including our 4 dogs. Food was good pub grub. Haggis Bon Bons to start, fish and chips and mac and cheese. Good Big portions. Service was excellent and staff were very chatty... More

Was a bit dubious on entering as place was empty..lady at the bar was quite welcoming and chatted. Myself and my cousin ordered steak pie for Sunday lunch..on arrival at the table it looked pre heated. Potato tasted like instant, seasonal veg was frozen garden peas and 4 slice of carrots. As for the pie, hard short crust base, filled... More

We had travelled up for 6 hours and it was just the ticket, a couple of good meals and 2 pints each. It was what we wanted and it did the job. Simple home made food, a warm welcome from the owner - a genial Scottish guy with a big beard and kilt. It was a quiet night but the... More

Visited the Slanj whilst out for a day trip. At first glance the restaurant has a homely look about it. I did notice that the carpark was generally quite untidy with some tree branches littering some of the spaces. Upon entering the restaurant and taking a seat I began to notice that the restaurant was in a poor state of... More

The subject speaks for its self I was in for a meal with friends, on way back home to Glasgow after a lovely day and never have I ever seen such unprofessionalism in my life, the service was terrible the man with the beard was very cheeky and I felt he was trying to show off, the way he spoke... Heard that the Slanj was under new management so decided to revisit. Good menu, food tasty and well presented, super hosting by Tom.......looking forward to the "full" reopening in Feb 17 and hope to be regular visitors. Great evening 😁

I really thought I might struggle to get a good meal in this area, but I was wrong! This is a really friendly pub, based in a converted church. I believe it may also be under new management. The food was superb and good value for money and the service was friendly and attentive. There was also live music the... More

The restaurant is in a converted church building so plenty of character. We were there on a Fri night and the place was very quiet but staff said it gets busier on a Sat with when it has live music - unfortunately I was leaving next morning so missed it. The place was candle lit and had very relaxed atmosphere.... More
