We visited the Buccleuch Arms on a Hen Do. They gave us use of a large room to ourselves which was great! As we were a group of 14 we all pre ordered, our meals. They came quickly and were lovely! Later we were invited in the bar to carry on the party and had a brilliant night. Thank you... More

We visited the bar for a lunch. My wife and I both chose from the two course lunch for £12.50 option. I had a salad followed by a delicious venison burger. My wife had the chefs soup of the day followed by a baked potato with haggis and cheese. All of the food was delicious. Because we were so impressed... More

Visited several times for excellent dining in bistro. Also lovely garden lunching in summer sunshine. Good food, attentive and friendly service. This typical Borders hotel has been around for decades and still retains its allure

Popped in here after walk from Newtown St Boswells. Fancied a light snack and opted for small portion of salmon salad. It was so delicious with amazing dressing, topped with pomegranate seeds. Wish I had ordered a mains portion!

We called in on the off chance but they were fully booked. We were offered a table that was free until 8pm, so were glad to take that. I had steak & my partner had fish, both meals were freshly prepared and piping hot. Although the portions were a good size, I still had room for dessert. Sticky Toffee pud... More

Popped in to the Blue Cow restaurant for lunch yesterday while I had time on my hands (dog was at the local vets) super menu, interesting menu with a twist on the dishes... very nice inside, quirky decor, excellent salmon salad, great service, friendly staff, we will certainly return.. We were the only two people there but that doesn't bother... More

Whilst expecting a mediocre experience, due to a Wowcher deal, i was still left disappointed at what was offered. Had this been a full price deal at the advertised £120 , then it would certainly have been worse. The bedroom had a window directly above the bed on the sloping ceiling and thus severly restricted any view the very small... More

I wish I could say all good things about the Bloo Coo bistrot but unfortunately every time I visit something goes wrong! The setting is lovely and cosy, the menu is excellent, food is mainly delicious. I did have one incident with the 'steak of the day' which I will attach a picture. When we complained the waiter said they... More

A real hotel, non of your corporate plastic, with a great restaurant. Good menus of locally sourced foods and beers in restaurant and bar, Lives up to its history as a coaching inn and therefore provides all a traveller needs but it is also well used by the locals so book you table if you want to eat. Friendly, helpful... More
