Fantastic servers who genuinely love dogs. Wide menu, great value. We had home made soup and the best toast is ever.

Dropped in early afternoon for a plate of bite to eat. No problem finding a table and waitress came and took our order quite quickly. The restaurant looked quite clean and tidy. Chicken broth was lovely and thick but the warm rool which went with it had obviously been heated in the microwave. Coffee and cake was good too. The... More

My word, this place gives bookshops a good name! Or is it a cafe with books?? No matter, we love it. Keeps good open hours, is clean and tidy, with chirpy staff. Very relaxed atmosphere and a really interesting menu. The breakfasts are Brill, but avoid the part-baked rolls..! Cake was also nice to look at but lacked flavour. Great... More

Relaxed and dog friendly with plenty of veggie choice. I had the all day veg breakfast (tasty with lots of variety, incl veggie haggis and tattie scone), he had rich mushroom soup. All for less than a tenner, excellent value. It was busy so service was accordingly paced, but with free wifi and surrounded by bookshelves, plus we were on... More

This is a first class cafe. The staff are polite and wish to make your visit a good experience. The food is freshly cooked and if there is delay when very busy they tell you. If diabetic you should tell a member of staff when you enter the restaurant

Called in on a cold and bright January day. One of the few places open this early in the year, and we were surprised more book shops had not opened!!, However, just a sandwich and soup ( Coronation chicken sandwich and squash and chili soup ) both great, fast service and reasonable prices. Very nice would return; they had a... More

Recommended by a friend while visiting the area. We visited three times and the food was good quality, good service and busy with locals. Always a good sign!

Nicely presented food but poor quality ingredients used. Chips served as part of meal almost inedible, cheap and probably previously frozen. Left a very unpleasant after- taste Can do better.
