My family and I have been to Dan's a couple of times and it has been really good both times. I've had the cheeseburger and last night I had the fish and chips and both have been very palate-pleasing. Another plus? The prices are very fair!!! If you're in the Olive Branch/Southaven area, you need to get to Dan McGuinness'... More

After years of Thursday night Fish and chips dinners with beer cheese soup and a beer. " McGuinness has changed to a different place. ". I understand that there were less and less people, and that their profits are much more Sports, Burgers , beer and college kids. I hope it is a successful venture. I look forward to going to... More

This was the closest Irish pub to my hotel during a business trip to Memphis. After a chilly, wet day, I was looking forward to some shepherd's pie or something. The menu looked good online. I get there and was greatly disappointed. It stunk to high heaven and there was a haze of cigarette smoke. I saw maybe 5 people... More

My friends have gone to Dan McGuinness for a number of years - and had good food. Unfortunately, today was not one one of those days. I have enjoyed grilled pork chops for some time now, but not today. What arrived appeared to be one pork chop that had been sliced into 2 pork chop cutlets. For the most part,... More

We frequent this pub because it is a comfortable friendly place for a family meal. It's great for little kids or adults. The food is traditional irish pub food, fish and chips are good, shepherds pie is good, actually pretty good veggies, though sometimes, like our last visit over the weekend, they tend to overcook and perhaps let stuff sit... I use to go to Dan McGuinness all the time. I was a regular. I moved too far away to go all the time, but when I'm out that way I try to stop in and grab some fish and chips. I stopped on Saturday night. There was hardly anyone in the place. Weird. I thought it was closed. It... More

This is a bar/lounge/pub with a separate dining room for non-smokers and those who want a little more quiet. We've had several items on the menu and have always liked the food.

Couldn't wait to try the fish n' chips. The restaurant was not crowded and the order came out quickly. The problem was the fish and the fries were both not hot. They must have cooked the fish and fries ahead of time and then put them under the warming lamp. I ordered a draft beer that was not cold. Very disappointed.

I've been eating at Dan McGuinness ever since the first location openned in Peabody place... in short, a very long time. For years, their Fish and Chips has been the standard by which I measure Fish and Chips; Large pieces of flaky cod battered perfectly. Today, not so much. The fish I had today was about 60% battered crust and... More
