We visited for lunch on a Saturday in July as a party of 8 including 2 children. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and the staff were helpful and polite. We sat outside in the newly refurbished and covered garden and the other tables were also booked. We ordered drinks which arrived quickly and ordered from the varied menu including hunters chicken pastie, kids meals and veggie options. The desserts were to die for, especially the brownie. However, the highlight of the meal was the make your own sundae which was ordered on the app, including rainbow sprinkles, brownie bites and mini doughnuts. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

A group of 20 of us had food, social distance was a key priority with the New Inn who’d managed to cater for this.
My partner had a Four Falls burger which comes with fries, absolutely beautiful and well presented
I had the Boozy Cow pasty, the right size for lunch and incredibly tasty!!
The beer garden is beautiful and well designed with little ornaments around and plenty of cover for either a warm or rainy day.
The staff did great with the amount of orders and were very polite and friendly!

We happened upon the pub after walking around the waterfalls so decided to stop for lunch
The weather was lovely so we sat on the green and all the information we needed to connect to WiFi and order online were on the tables
Ordered easily and quickly, drinks came out promptly. Great alternative pub grub menu so we had a few different things that were all really tasty.
Will stop in again next time we visit the waterfalls

We'd booked dinner for several of us while staying in Ystradfellte for the weekend. We sat outside in the marquee, which was nicely put together and a heater kept the cold (yes, cold in August!) of the drizzly evening at bay.
Overall, nice venue, although I wouldn't want to sit in the marquee beyond the end of August.
The staff were friendly and attentive, and the menu was perfectly good, prices average (mostly £11-14 mains), typical pub stuff (burgers, curry, pie etc with chips).
Nice to see two local ales, although one was out of stock, and local cider.
The real shock came when the food was served, both starters and mains, all in separate plastic and cardboard takeaway cartons, with plastic cutlery. The chips on the side even came in their own separate box! Not only was it difficult to eat out of the boxes due to their height, but our pub dinner was reduced to feeling like we'd just bought a takeaway and were eating it at the bus stop on the way home! Totally spoiled the experience.
Plus, this is an environmental disaster (I didn't get the impression these plastic/cardboard mix boxes were recyclable). Surely this isn't a Covid thing as every other restaurant seems to have managed to continue with plates and cutlery through the pandemic.
Frankly, we didn't pay £20/person to eat our sit-down pub meals (starters and mains) out of a takeaway box with plastic curlery. Really wierd, not sure what The New Inn are thinking, serving people in this way.
Regrettably, we will not be returning on our next stay in the village.

Two sets of managers since then that have built the pub up and they have been terrific over the Covid period providing Sunday lunches and special treat boxes. They have delivered Sunday meals over the winter in a 4x4 vehicle, Well worth a visit when you are allowed. Visited during open outdoor period last year, but felt had to put a comment as previous 10 year old comment NOT NOW JUSTIFIED. Wii
Be visiting a.s.a.p. When allowed.

Discovered the pub by accident whilst driving around the Brecon Beacons and thought we'd stop for a pint.
Once we saw the menu, we decided to make it a lunch stop and I'm so glad we did. The burger was possibly the best I have ever had (and I have had quite a few!) consisting of a traditional beef burger and another 4oz of slow cooked beef in beer; absolutely gorgeous.
The staff who are the owners are extremely friendly and the beer first class. So nice to see a business embrace the challenges of lockdown by extending their outdoor facilities and provide a grocery service to their immediate community.
I can't recommend this pub highly enough And I wish the owners all the very best of luck coming out of lockdown

My fiancé, her friend and I booked a table, having explored the nearby waterfalls. We arrived a bit early but were seated in the beautiful restaurant area immediately. Having perused the menu in advance we all ordered the "boozy pie". I spoke with a supremly pleasant and helpful fellow (It transpires that he, Chris, is the owner) who recommended a delicious cider (Black dragon) which was much needed. The food arrived with minimal wait and the pie had a quantity of meat (Juicy and tender) that would make Desperate Dan blush! There was a glorious crown of crispy puff pastry, chips and salad. I devoured the pie and had to"help out" our friend who could not finish (you do what you can, don't you? 😉). I ordered another cider, so as not to appear rude and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
The staff were extremely pleasant and seemingly happy young ladies and gents and they were attentive, responsive and courteous, despite that they were clearly busy. We would have happily had desert but for the sizable salted caramel cheesecake (Homemade....and stupidly easy) that awaited us, back home. We plan to return soon! We highly recommend this fine establishment!

Excellent pub, pretty outside facilities to keep everyone safe under current restrictions. I had the boozy cow pastie, my husband had the chicken balti and granddaughter had the sausages. All delicious. Everytime I visit I have the homemade boozy cow pastie, please be advised that it is totally gorgeous and addictive, only order if you intend to revisit because one will never be enough. Our dog was made very welcome and supplied with a bowl of water. Beautiful village close to the waterfalls, the village church is delightful.

Our lockdown virtual quiz team met for a socially distant lunch at The New Inn, I had the burger, it has to be the best burger have eaten ever. All 20 of us including children were all delighted with the food and service Abi and Chris present. A very safe haven in these strange times, in the very busy Beacons.
I highly recommend The New Inn for
Exceptional food and service at realistic prices.

Visited this old world pub which has its own camp site in the most beautiful countryside you would ever see several times these past month's and sampled they're fabulous food. We attended a wonderful wedding there yesterday, even with COVID restrictions they put on a brilliant meal in a marquee adjoining the pub. The food was served hot, efficiently, stunningly tasty. The management and staff were commented by several guests how they provided such a brilliant service. They also have an immaculate bunkhouse opposite the pub.

We popped in after trekking to see the waterfalls and forgetting to bring any food with us... Service was lovely, people so friendly and willing to have a genuine chat. Food was just what we needed, hearty and flavour full! I had the cheese tart and partner had the beef pasty (didn't hear him talk for 15 mins that says it all!!) :) Would love to come back here - the terrace is beautiful and oozing good vibes!

We booked a meal for 8 of us (2 families) on Friday evening. This is a few miles away from the nearest waterfall car park SA11 5US and an ideal venue for hungry walkers after a busy day seeing the stunning waterfalls. Unfortunately, after leaving the falls, one family headed off to another nearby 'New Inn' - so beware of blindly following Google directions (THIS New Inn is at CF44 9JE)!! The Staff at this pub could not have been more welcoming and on the ball. They were friendly and happy to chat. The food was served all together, quickly prepared and they clearly have their business model just right. The menu also was really great, a few firm favourites in there but also some different choices which makes such a refreshing change. It has lots of veggie options (which isn't often the case, especially in smaller country pubs) and most of us had a hard choice choosing. My children definitely recommend the biscoff waffles for pudding! Yummy. The Old Crow cider was good too!

Thank you so much for your wonderfully complimentary review. We try hard to ensure that our menu contains a variety of options for all dietary requirements, and highlights our favourites too. We are delighted that you chose our place to refresh after your waterfall walk. We hope to welcome you again sometime.

A little pub we found that does the best carvery, the beef was amazing, lovely roast potatoes, the best stuffing ever. Generally a fabulous meal. The dessert a red berry and gin cheesecake was to die for. When we are this way we will definitely be going back. I recommend booking , they do three sittings 12, 2, and four.

We came here the first evening for my partner's birthday and had a very tasty meal. In fact it was so yummy we came back the next night! The menu is great and has a wide range of choice for everyone, including vegan options and gluten free.
We had the pea fritters first night, followed by the boozy cow pie and farmyard stack. We were going to have puddings but were so full we didn't have room. The white hot chocolate is delicious though!
Following night we had the local halloumi bites, followed by the honey pepper salmon and the four falls burger (the beef is something else, so tender and tasty!). We didn't make the mistake of filling up too much today and left room for puddings.. their pudding menu is amazing, so much variety and so much better than the standard boring pub dessert menu.
Lovely little pub, perfect after a long day of walking locally :) staff are really lovely too!

This place is an absolute gem of a pub. Been here a couple of times. Went last week after a staying night away near by. The pub owners are extremely lovely people making you feel very welcome.
Talked about the local beer and products they had to offer.
Star of the show is the food. The menu has a great choice of mains, home made pasties and well the loaded fries are incredible.
The Christmas specials are a great addition too!
Would highly recommend stopping off here for food and a couple of pints. A cosy friendly pub! See you soon
