It was such a pleasant time. The food was amazing, the staff friendly and professional. The vice of the restaurant is cozy. Being from Portugal seemed like I was back home just enjoying a night out.

My wife and I visited here for her birthday. We had been looking forward to this treat and it did not disappoint. We both commented that this felt like a top restaurant in London. The service, atmosphere and food were all of the highest quality....Well done. The Blue Steak was perfect by the way, thank you so much for making my wife's birthday special.More
Awesome food and service 👌 We were celebrating a family members birthday and were made to feel very special. An all round gem, and we will definitely be returning.
Recently moved to the area and what can I say!!! truly delicious and perfect in every way. Service was excellent, lovely smiley staff, Paula, Mannu (I think) and another young man who's name I didn't get. Starters of Antipasta, King prawns, king prawns and mushrooms...and calamari...superb and very tasty, mixed Espetada all cooked to perfection, generous portions of rice, vegetables, Portugese potatoes and salad along with a good white house wine. Will become a firm regular with us and any visitors we have.More
Went on Friday night for our anniversary and it was lovely, food amazing ,fast service and friendly staff. I have lived in Colwyn Bay 20 years and have visited regularly and never had a bad meal.
Lovely, traditional family run restaurant, lovely menu, excellent food and great staff and atmosphere. Will be back now we’ve found this little gem. Best to book as it gets busy.
What a lucky find. Difficult to find a restaurant in the area, we are not local. SW this and although we obviously hadn’t booked they made us really welcome and we were seated at a table within 20mins. The food was absolutely superb snd the...staff really pleasant and friendly. Wish we lived closer, it would be a regular stop for usMore
Opportunistic stop for food and what an enjoyable meal! The service was fantastic as the staff could not do enough for you and the food was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be back if I am on the area again!
Amazing find in Wrexham, fitted us in without a booking. The staff were friendly and helpful, service was great. Food was amazing. My daughter is a vegetarian and there were plenty of options, she described her dinner as “perfect, exactly what she wanted”. Loved the...decor and had a nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.More
Hadn’t booked but happened to be in the area and thought we’d give it a try. We were not disappointed! Inside the restaurant is lovely, a lovely atmosphere and beautifully done out. The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable about their food....The food! Oh my gosh, the food! This is a perfect example of people who care about the food. We opted for lasagne and spinach and ricotta cannelloni. The portions were generous and the dishes have so much flavour! Dessert was a must, the tiramisu was different to ‘the usual’ but really lovely and the creme brûlée was perfect! If you get the chance to go I highly recommend this place. In fact, we considered staying another night to try some of the other delights!More
Booked this venue for a special birthday for a member of the family. I must say I am very disappointed. There were a number of errors during our visit, not just with us but with other tables. As soon as the restaurant opened about 2/3...rds of the booked tables arrive together. Starters arrived quickly, and whilst we were eating the birthday person was asked if they had finished (they were still eating) Our wine was delivered and poured at the wrong table the full glasses were then brought over to us. We asked to swap the normal fries for the Portuguese potatoes, They arrived and were basically Fried frozen chips with added paprika and garlic flavouring, not as I remembered from a previous visit. The main meal was Lamb on skewers, We both received 4 cubes of meat. I could see from the other table as this appeared to be standard as another guest had the chicken and again 4 cubes of meat. During the meal the Manageress came over and went to take our birthday guests plate by touching it saying "finished?" They hadn't finished! but decided to give up and let her have the plate. A side note to this for the Manageress sometimes you can be dealing with a person who may have eating issues, Hurrying them up can make the issue worse! and it gives them the excuse not to finish it. (and I don't believe we were over stepping our time sitting there as it was well under 2 hrs) I would say for the cost of the meal I am very disappointed in the service, Cleanliness and the quality of the food. Please read my other reviews, I like to give positive reviews even when sometimes things can go wrong but in this case I would say during todays climate you cant afford to spend money on something that is unsatisfactory.More
We went here for an anniversary meal after reading the fabulous reviews on tripadvisor. Virgilio's did not disappoint. We had the table for an hour and a half which was perfect as the service was quick and efficient (we didn't feel rushed at all). Drinks...orders were taken immediately and served quickly, as was our food. We had the Portuguese steak which was cooked to perfection. All of the staff are friendly and attentive, without being in your face. We will be back for sure, and next time we go, I will make sure I am starving so I can fit in more than one course!More
Excellent food!!! The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back when we're back in Colwyn Bay.
If you like traditional ambience and food, you might well enjoy eating here. It's an interesting fusion of Portugese (meat hanging on traditional skewers on your table) and Italian cuisine (trattoria dishes). Service was generally good, but not outstanding; the food is in a similar...vein. traditional tables and chairs and rather dated toilet facilities. it's a far cry from Michelin guide food, but if you're looking for decent food in an unsophisticated environment, then you could do a lot worse in Colwyn Bay. My first visit even though we live only 15 miles away and eat out regularly in North Wales.More
Good food and excellent friendly service. Really nice atmosphere and the food came fast. We will come again next time in the area.
