This is an unpretentious establishment overlooking the sea.The menu offers items to suit. all .Three of us had lamb steak with new potatoes with peas and carrots ,one a baked potato and one a vegetarian chilli dish. The lamb was cooked to taste.Since we were driving I chose tea ,other’s coffee or a soft drink despite the ample choice of beverages. My tea was leaf tea and came with strainer etc. We all succumbed to the cake display mostly home made favourites-Fruit pies ,syrup tarts, carrot cakes etc with ample cream Our youngest member mentioned a liking for custard which was instantly offered by our very obliging waitress-Kate
All the staff were very welcoming making this a charming experience

We visited Swn y Mor today as a family. We were seated by a member of staff (wearing a mask) The service was swift and friendly, the food was plentiful and tasty. We felt safe, that all covid measures were in place and adhered to. Even in these strange times the staff were upbeat, friendly and did their best to accommodate us. Will definitely visit again.

Could do better.
A friend and I stopped for lunch August bank holiday. The premises is a little tired and could do with attention. Bit shabby and dirty in places, dead flies on window sills etc. The menu is pretty basic but fine for lunch with decent portions but is a little over priced for what it is, having said that the food was good and service was fine. The cakes looked great but I was a little stuffed after lunch to indulge. Would return (for the cake)

Firstly to make clear this review is no reflection on the staff who were friendly, attentive and accommodating throughout our visit. The outside area for dining on the other hand is dreary with unadorned plastic tables and chairs set in an area devoid of any attractiveness making no effort to enhance the superb views of the coast. There was also a wasp problem which upset children at another table. The food presented was equally uninspired with a Ploughman's salad bearing three triangles of cheese as the star of the plate and that was about it! The lamb burger could have come from any supermarket set between an equally unimpressive white bread bap with a touch of basic salad and fried cheese which you could get from any cheap burger stand at half the price. On a positive the chips were good which is a sad reflection of our total dining experience. Our advice would be keep your great staff but add some finesse to your meals and premises which is letting you down.

We were looking for somewhere on the seafront to eat an evening meal. Most places were closed or booked up so we were surprised to find a table in Swn Y Mor.
I found the staff to be helpful and friendly but the tables felt a bit sticky. We were going to leave after being seated but thought we may not find anywhere to sit down so decided to give it the benefit of the doubt as we only wanted something like fish and chips.
My daughter ordered a ploughmans lunch which looked just what she wanted and the salad was crisp and the cheese fresh. However,my husbands fish was watery(probably frozen),my fishcakes didn't taste like fish and the chips tasted frozen. We paid ten pounds ninety five for each meal which we thought was overpriced for frozen food and a cheese salad.

Avoid avoid avoid. This restaurant does not understand Covid guidelines and does not treat customers in a welcoming manner. From the moment we arrived, the manageress made us feel uncomfortable. When I tried to follow my husband to our tables, she told me to stop there and wait. No please, no thank you. It was sharp and rude. What a welcome. My family and I visited and were seated outside on 2 tables. We were a party of 5 adults and 3 children under 12. In wales this makes us a party of 5, however the cafe has a rule of no party bigger than 6 can sit together so we abided by the rules and sat apart. When a table next to my family became free, I politely asked a gentleman if we could move to that table to be closer together, we would still be on separate tables and wouldn’t move any chairs etc. He walked off and sharply said NO! When I (again politely asked why?) he got really sharp and said we would be breaking the rules. This is factually incorrectly. We are outside, a party of 5 adults and 3 children and are all the same family. Again we did not stand up, argue or cause a scene, a welsh couple sat next to me asked what the problem was so I explained. They didn’t think the cafe got the rules right. Next thing, the friendly manager arrived (not) and said “I know you think this is a laugh and joke” (a very big assumption as I didn’t) but we could get fined. Again factually incorrect. What rules are the cafe reading? I said to my husband (seated on the other table) that I thought we should leave as we had been made to feel so uncomfortable. The manageress said “I think that’s for the best” and gave me her best death stare. I suffer from anxiety and just felt sick. So we left. Disappointed and to be honest upset by how we had been treated. We were not on holiday, we all own holiday homes in criccieth and have been to the cafe many times over the years. We recommend it to our friends and family when they visit but I’m sorry to say that’s ended now. If you feel the need to respond to this review, please get your facts right first. My whole family wore a mask, hand sanitised on entry, didn’t shout, stand up or were aggressive in any way. We made the decision to leave as my mum has a heart condition and was upset and like I say I suffer with anxiety. Is this really how you want your customers to feel? This is a true account of the event and so before you respond I would suggest you do a little investigation. If you are a larger party then don’t expect to be treated well. Try Dylan’s or the tea pot cafe by the laundrette, you’ll be welcomed there and looked after.

A small inconspicuous restaurant by the beach, it would seem that the prices will be from space and the food is average, and here ...... surprise, both on Sunday and Monday, we ate great meals, both delicious and within reasonable price. Their lasagna and special burger something wonderful. You wait fantastic for 10 - 15 minutes, the staff is amazing, very nice and helpful. I recommend it to everyone who wants to eat tasty and reasonably cheap. Keep it up . Greetings to the blonde lady from how you said "the first Poles in their restaurant".

Had a lovely view across the bay, and
Kids lunchbox had a very generous sandwich- having ordered a fair few of these over the years, I would say put a half sandwich in, and add a piece of fruit and a yogurt, as the sandwich, crisps and chocolate bar felt a bit unhealthy. But the vegetarian burger was phenomenonal. My husband had the special burger, which was a decent portion, but found it had a bit of an odd taste. Overall though a good meal and decent prices.

Me and the Mrs and kids went to criccieth.
We tuned up at the door and the manager found us a table even tho we didn't book.
The food was absolutely gorgeous me and the Mrs had the scampi.
The kids had home made pizza 🍕and chips 😋
The service was very fast and very good the food was piping hot.
Also it was good to see covid guidelines being followed perfectly.
Also the place was spotless
I would recommend booking as I could tell its a very popular restaurant.

I ordered the ‘special’ vegetable chilli and it was amazing! Just the right amount of spice and vegetables. I asked if it was possible to have the sweet potato fries instead of regular chips and they accepted my request with no hesitation. The rest of my party I was with rated the food 10/10. When we come back to Wales we will definitely be coming back. If anyone is after somewhere to eat, I would 100% recommend. The staff was polite and efficient, 10/10!!

We came in for a cuppa and a bite, and ended up with the most fantastic and delicious salmon and cream cheese sandwich with side salad. Even when I asked if I could have salad with no dressing there was no hassle and my goodness me it was a substantial amount of fresh salad. No wonder that they were so busy that they were having to turn away people who didn't want to wait for a free table.
The staff were so friendly and attentive, we both enjoyed our early lunch. Just a pity we don't live nearer!! Thanks for your hospitality and the food was utterly amazing!!

Called here for a drink whilst in Criccieth and we ended up having a meal.
Entered and saw the meals being served they looked so apertizing so we decided to have a meal. Can highly recommend the Welsh rarebit which you could have with bacon and a marmalade as extras . All the cakes and scones are homemade and the scones were served warm.
You can sit inside and out, and dogs are more than welcome. Sitting outside gives views of the beach.
Don't drive past definitely call in.

Popped in for breakfast on the off chance one morning and wish we'd discovered this amazing place earlier. Fantastic views overlooking the Bay, you'd be hard pressed to find a better location or place to eat. Amazing coffee and delicious local produce (will review breakfast seperately). It was that great, we booked for a late lunch on the very same day! All of the staff were so friendly and professional, warm and welcoming, and a true credit to Swn-y-mor. The food was absolutely mouthwatering, loads of choice, and when we finally made our choice from the extensive menu, the gourmet burger was the best we have ever tasted.. As for their home made chocolate cake...I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Could easily feed two, unless you're a complete chochaholic like myself, just make sure you save room for it. Proper home made food, generous portions, amazing value for money, I just cannot give enough praise to this unique establishment and it's awesome staff. 5 stars is simply not enough! Thanks to each and every one of you for your warm hospitality.

My husband and I had our lunch twice here this week. The choice of food is extensive, with daily specials on top. Although GF options aren't marked on the menu, they are available and staff are prepared to cater to your GF needs! The staff had GF bread to go with GF soup (which I enjoyed very much), cooked GF chips on request and were ready to mix and match any food items to my preference. The Fisherman's salad was enormous and very good. Next day I had fantastic bacon with egg and chips. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his lamb steak.
They also serve wines and ciders (Orchard cider was excellent).
The staff are very friendly. There is seating indoors and outside with some great views.

We had a lovely meal here on a warm, balmy evening on 14th August 2020. The food was excellent and served by very friendly staff. This is a well established family business that clearly prides itself on its service to customers. The open air eating area overlooks Criccieth bay. It is a lovely location.
Book early if you want to eat here, it is popular and the latest you can book is 19:30.
Highly recommended. 😊
