This little restaurant is a gem on Criccieth high street. Lovely intimate restaurant, superb service and excellent food. We will definitely be back!!
Thank you, Andy! 😊
Great restaurant in cricceth, we had the savoury Welsh Black Beef Pancake, which is a large starter and potatoes, the seafood medley and shared a bread and butter pudding for desert, all were excellentt, good sized portions and very tasty with very good service.
Thank you, Mark! Glad you enjoyed your evening with us! 😊
Excellent meal in comfortable surroundings, friendly accommodating staff, good selection of food and drink on the menu with prices to suit, essential to book in advance as this place is probably one of ( if not the ) very best restaurants on the peninsular, looking...forward to visiting soonMore
Thank you for the lovely review! 😊
We have just spent a week in this lovely part of Wales and we always come to Poachers for a meal when we are here on holiday It is five years since we have been able to visit and we we were not disappointed. The...standard of food, service and ambience is still first class. The menu is excellent and there is something for everyone's taste. I would highly recommend this restaurant and next time we are in the area, we will.definitely be back. Many thanks for a lovely evening.More
Thank you for the lovely review! We look forward to seeing you next time!
We are holidaying in the area and this the fifth restaurant we have tried and it is by far the best. Booking is essential, the night we visited the restaurant was fully booked. We had a reasonable wait for our meal but this was partly...because we chose not to have a starter. My wife had pan roasted chicken in a peppercorn and mushroom sauce. The chicken breast was beautifully cooked and the was a good amount of sauce. I enjoyed the Welsh black beef in a wine and beer sauce accompanied with a Yorkshire pudding. There was a good selection of vegetables and new potatoes. The meals were well presented and the cooking was to a high standard. I finished my meal with a great sticky toffee pudding. Congratulations to the chef and the staff who were pleasant and attentive.More
Thank you for the lovely review - were pleased that you enjoyed your evening with us! PS - our chicken breasts are fairly large, making them the dish that takes longest to cook, therefore the wait probably does seem a bit longer without a starter....More
We have visited Poachers many times and it is still our favourite restaurant The food is always excellent and very good value Would highly recommend
Thank you for the kind review! We look forward to seeing you again! 🙂
First time visit today and I have to say it won't be the last . The service was top class and the food was amazing would highly recommend to any one visiting Criccieth to eat here
Thank you so much! We look forward to seeing you again. 😊
An amazing meal for the last night of the holiday. Cute restaurant, friendly staff and delicious food. Very popular, easy to see why. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back.
Thank you for your kind review! 😊 We're pleased that you enjoyed your evening with us!
We (older couple) had a really excellent meal at the Poachers (tomato soup for starters, then mushroom pancake (as a main) and lasagne, followed by bread pudding (to share!). All food is obviously home-made and delicious and the service is friendly and attentive and the...atmosphere is pleasant and 'civilised'. The restaurant has limited space and pre booking is strongly advised (they have a nice touch of updating their Facebook page daily to show if the restaurant is fully booked).More

We arrived early, so maybe that’s why we had to wait a while before we were asked for our order. It certainly wasn’t VERY busy. I ordered the fish cake as a starter, which was quite large and well presented. Perhaps could have done with...a touch more seasoning to really bring out the flavours. My mains was the lamb, which was superb, possibly the best I’ve ever had, and came with plenty of veg. Husband had the pasta with mushrooms. I’d warned him that it might be a smallish plate, and he could be left feeling hungry, but how wrong was I. He had to leave some as he was full. Puds were good, and the wine was good value. Total bill was reasonable, and we left feeling we had had a great quality meal for a fair price. I only wish we had such a good restaurant near where we live. Well done, Poachers!More
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We are really happy that you enjoyed your evening with us. As we have just one chef in the kitchen, we are not able to put too many orders through at one time...More
Fantastic food and service, best meal I've had in ages. Highly recommended. Group of 8 and every dish was spot on, (seafood medleys especially).
