Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

When you’ve had enough of Turkey and Sprouts…Salt Marsh is a must, consistently fabulous-
I was desperate for flavour and wow did I get it.
A soft hot Bao Bun filled with Asian Pork belly and a marinated chilli salad ..
A Thai Green Curry with crunchy vegetables hot enough to make your nose run a little but a warming hug in your tummy! Fluffy sticky coconut rice on the side perfect to drop spoonfuls into my steaming curry to mop up the broth.
Even though I was completely satisfied and really should have gone back to my homemade trifle.
I couldn’t resist the sound of a Hazelnut Cheesecake adorned with crunchy caramel whole hazelnuts!!!
Omg I am so happy, nicely full and only require my pyjamas and the sofa.
Thank you to Scott and his amazing team xx

As a Manchester lad here on holiday I never expected to come across a restaurant as good as this. This restaurant would make the majority of restaurants in Manchester hang their heads in shame. The food is exquisite and the front of house staff are an example of how to treat your customers. No praise is high enough. Lucky lucky Tywyn.

Beautifully cooked food, not over expensive and superb service. A really friendly yet professional welcome from the staff here was just the prelude to a superb dinner for a friend's birthday. For this standard of food, less than £55 perhead for 4 courses and two bottles of wine was fabulous value. Don't miss this place if you're in the area!!

Outstanding meal, world class food at very reasonable prices, with friendly, low-key service. Beautiful fresh seafood, with lots of options and generous portions. Spanish Fisherman’s stew was rich but delicate at the same time - astonishing range of flavours. Desserts were indulgent but not heavy - raspberry crème brulee couldn’t be bettered - perfect light crunch over a deep, fruity base with a very satisfying shortcake biscuit. Relaxed atmosphere, lots of happy customers around!

Soon as we walked in very friendly atmosphere was friendly owner and staff had different wines and bottle beer etc.
Food was amazing I had mackerel to start and sea bass main husband had the pork to start and fresh haddock homemade chips peas tarte sauce 😋 we were both full up no room for sweet.
We can recommend here and will be back even just for the sweet Amazing 👏.

We had an excellent meal at Salt Marsh Kitchen and will definitely return when we're back in Tywyn next year. The menu was much broader than the website suggests - I had a delicious seafood curry and my mum had a tasty duck dish. The feel of the placed is relaxed and friendly, we really enjoyed that too. Highly recommend!

We booked the restaurant a few weeks ago following a recommendation from the place we were staying. Service and food were fantastic. We had BAO buns to start with pork belly (yum) and my husband had a cod special and I had the fisherman’s stew - all excellent. Would recommend without hesitation.

The restaurant was funky and relaxed (except for a few screaming children, but that was no fault of the restaurant). The staff were friendly and attentive.
I was starving & had high expectations.
My food was OK but not amazing. I was really disappointed by the Goan curry - tasted like it was made with an English supermarket paste, with no taste of coconut (& unexpexted potatoes - maybe to bulk it out?) but not many prawns (2), like something I could cook myself, not delicious. And for the price I thought this was expensive.

As a a party of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenage boys), we ate here twice during our week long holiday. The fact that we went back to eat here in Tywyn for a 2nd time despite being surrounded by restaurants in Aberdyfi, speaks volumes for just how good this place is.
Between the 4 of us, we worked our way through 24 dishes on our 2 visits. Every single dish was faultless.
We tried mussels, scallops, tuna tartare, cod, crab, lamb, haddock, churros, cheesecake, panacotta etc etc.
The winning formula is amazing local food which is perfectly cooked and served in a relaxed setting, by friendly staff who genuinely seem to enjoy their work.
Really cannot fault this place. It's well worth a visit - 5 hours drive from our house, but we will definitely be back.

Ate there last night I had mackerel my partner had cod both meals were outstanding. The service is perfect, you are never left waiting for anything but never rushed. The owner makes time talking to dinners which makes you feel very welcome. Definitely going back again.

Modern bistro style restaurant run by a young couple who know what they are doing!
Both the starters and the mains were of an excellent standards with innovative flavourful twists. The sweet menu was however a little limited, but not so that you would not be able to find something to your liking. We will not hesitate to return next time we are in the area.

The Salt Marsh Kitchen is one of my favourite restaurants and it didn't disappoint when we visited on 20th July. Food quality is amazing and I love the specials board. The staff are so friendly and make the night very special.
I simply don't have a bad word to say about the restaurant. It's a must visit especially if you like fish.
