Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We called in here, hoping to have lunch. Unfortunately they were understaffed and the young man was alone, so could only do drinks. He had run out of cake and couldn't make snacks, as he couldn't leave the counter. We had takeaway drinks which were...fine but it was disappointing that we couldn't have more. Well done to the young man managing on his own.More

Sadly very disappointed by this cafe which is in a prime location. Paper plates and cups? Understandable if it was a one off but it is now the norm here. Cream tea was OK but unremarkable and they are really missing the opportunity to give...visitors a memorable (for the right reasons) treat.More

This used to be our favourite dog friendly coffee shop and we have visited on our holidays for the last 8 years. Last year the upstairs was closed, we assumed after covid. We tried again this year for coffee and lunch, to be told the...kitchen was closed 18 months ago and the only tables are downstairs in the shop, with no windows and coffee and cake only. We left as we wanted food but could see someone upstairs enjoying a coffee. Went straight to the pub next door for an excellent lunch. Won't be trying Pebbles again. So disappointing.More

Exceptionally good coffee, both the smooth Americano and the creamy latte. Would heartily recommend. And yes paper cups but there is a very nice garden nearby with great views to the coast!

Don't think the chap working upstairs is happy in his work, it was as much as he could do to make us a pathetically weak cup of expensive coffee! My husband asked for the card receipt and his answer was....It's too much bother to do...those.... of course when he came to the table and I asked how much he had paid I realised why he had not wanted to give a receipt as he had overcharged us by 80p..... I went up to tell him and straight away he said 'Oh I owe you 80p'.... so he knew what he had done! A lady sitting at the next table lent over and whispered....Happy isn't he'. We will not go there again.... Did mention it to the chap working downstairs.... Maybe they had had a row?More

We’ve been coming to this cafe for over 15 years and were very shocked to see the crockery has been replaced with single use disposable cups, plates and cutlery. It’s just not the same.

This is a small cafe offering home-made cakes and very good coffee at excellent prices. The espresso was superb and the bara birth very good. A must visit on a trip to the city and a friendly welcome.

Lucky find. Small coffee bar upstairs over a gallery, but they also have tables outside. Truly delicious coffee, tasty bara brith, polite friendly service, cool music (not the place to go if you prefer it quiet). Enjoyed our visit so much we went back later...in the day.More

Lovely little coffee shop with an excellent range of cakes. Great expresso. The gift shop has some really good jewellery. I managed to resist spending lots of money.

Not a great experience at this cafe: coffee okay but poor commercial cakes and not much choice anyway. Tables uncleared, rubbish on the floor and just to top it all overhead the owner say to the proprietor next door ‘ I’m closed now, sold out...of everything - had enough of this nonsense’ as he gestured and scanned about at his customers. He didn’t think anyone had noticed or heard but I did!! Not a great attitude is it considering this is his business and he relies on his paying customers!! Sounds like he’s had enough of it all in which case he should go and do something else and let someone else run the cafe properly.More

Ok coffee but not much else Poor selection of cakes and no other food on offer Served by the owner/person who runs it, who was clearly irritated by having customers and even insulted his own scones & saying he needed a break. Felt too intimidated...to say anything & just wanted to leave. Such a shame as the downstairs shop area is greatMore

Lovely little coffee shop, selling coffee and cake only on the day we visited. We sat outside under the awning in the sunshine. Latte was very good and the hot chocolates were too. Carrot cake and lemon drizzle cake was tasty and kept us going....Nice location to relax a bit and people watch before getting on your way.More
