The pub didn't stock much lager so we ended up with Grolsch which to me isn't that nice. We were hungry as had just arrived in Knighton so ordered lunch. The vegetarian menu in my opinion is very lazy I mean if you are going to do enchiladas why not add some quorn to the veggie ones? We decided on... More

£16 for 2 courses. Welsh lamb was very good. Everyone had a different starter and the crispy duck pancakes were very good too. The melon was served very attractively

Good beer and big range of food which all seems to be freshly cooked. Nice snug which is snug...or a buzzy bar with pool etc, and a restaurant off the yard. Good service. Much better than the average bar food you'll find most places along Offa's Dyke.

We visited the four pubs that were open on our recent 2 night visit, and ate here on our last night. It's a lovely old pub, spread out over a number of rooms surrounding a small courtyard that would be a pleasant spot on a warm day. We had the fajitas and a burger; both amongst the best we've ever... More

We were staying locally and the Horse and Jockney was recommended to us by the lovely lady in the Black Sheep coffee shop and we weren't disappointed. Fantastic food and service!! The fajitas were the best I've ever had....and I'm a fajita connoisseur 👍🏼 The children's dishes were a good size and plates were cleared. Highly recommended.

We chanced upon this pub on a visit to Knighton and hit gold. The snug was cosy with a real fire on the go. There were some lovely locals having their regular lunch time meet up and picking runners for the Grand National. We all had a chat. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was great. My... Nice characterful pub with good ambience and friendly service. We had a good lunch, although the beer had run out when we called.

This is the real deal. In the age of large group ownership and bog standard roastie-menus, The Horse and Jockey is an actual, old school local town pub. The barman greets you with a smile and you know you're in a good place. Nice hearty country food and a good pour of beer.
