We came to this venue for after-work drinks. We were not able to get a drink at a table unless eating so we decided to get a table and have some food. Unfortunately waitstaff put us at a table where water was leaking on us next to a POS system in a far off corner. We were looking forward to... More

We visited this very popular restaurant on busy Surfing Championship weekend. A reservation could not be made but we turned up early at 6pm and had a wait at the bar for about 20 minutes. Considering, the volume of diners, we were not expecting too much from the food fare. However, my wife and I agreed the meal was excellent.... More

We're regular patrons at Hugo's and dine there probably at least once each month and all year through - not just in the warmer months either. We are no by means locals and travel for an hour to get there, but It has become our favourite Sunday-afternoon-into-evening restaurant. The meals (particularly the calamari and the pizzas) are consistently 10/10, the... More

Coffees with spiced rum, oysters natural and crumbed, prawns, pate, excellent pea risotto. Watermelon cocktail. Nice morning-after post-concert celebration!

Went here for some lunch on Sunday. The place was rammed and though we wanted a table outside the staff just simply couldn't accommodate, not their fault at all. They did manage to get us some seats looking out on the bay which was definitely good enough for us. The service was brilliant, all the staff here are so kind... More

Visited Manly Beach on our first day on vacation in Sydney. Decided to go to Hugo's on the recommendation of friends. Quick seating even though is was a very busy night. Service was great! Pizza even better. My 7 year old son said it was the best pizza he ever had!

On my final night in Manly we decided to go here as it had good reviews locally and the views over the harbour were really good. Started with the butterflied king prawns which were really good, decent sized portion, good quality and flavour, set the standard for the rest of the meal. Next was the Wagyu steak, this was cooked... More

Hugos is situated to the right of Manly Wharf tucked behind the Bavarian Beer bar. We had the pleasure of dining at Hugos during our honeymoon trip to Australia. The food and service was fantastic. Scallops to start followed by sea food pasta. I can't remember my dessert but I know I enjoyed it. The wine and service were faultless.... More

Wonderful venue overlooking Manly baths, right where ferry arrives. Food excellent with the best pizzas and salads to die for. Wines a little expensive but who cares when you are enjoying good company, good food and excellent views.

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
