What an amazing place run by incredible people. The menu is eclectic as recipes have been collected on the owners travels. The place is covered top-to-bottom with brilliant, unique artwork from local artist Ric Abel. There is live music nearly every night. You can BYO wine if you want. It really is a very special place. Try the Bulgoki and... More

Has a lot of rustic funky charm - and had a great live musician. Food is a menu that would cater for all from tapas style meals to mains. The mains are large good wholesome food but not in the exciting category. Although the mussels in bowl done in tomatoe and chilli was good!! We were there from 7pm but... More

Had the shared menu to try everything. Tapas-style dishes, meatballs, san choy bau, stuffed mushrooms, paella etc. Best part was a great, affordable wine list, also by the glass. Food nothing special and came out a little too fast, going cold on the table while we finished the earlier dished. Pleasant service, and no complaints, but don't think we will... More

How do you please the appetites and eating habits of 22 family members over 4 generations - 5 to 87 years old?? I decided on the privacy and delicious fare of the Artichoke Gallery and Cafe set in a quiet back lane near Manly Beach. Ric and Jenny couldn't have been more helpful. They reserved upstairs for us which included... More

Ate here with a groups for my partners birthday recently and Rick looked after us so well. We had the best night. Such a great armosphere. Artichoke never disappoints.

A small group of us had a dinner here a few weeks ago. The entrees were good, san choy bau and meat balls were delicious and the wine was nice. I wasn't sure if I should give this place an average or very good rating as I found their curry a let down. After the entrees I was looking forward... More

We stumbled across this cafe during a night out with friends and it was a lot of fun. We enjoyed the funky, quirky decor and the atmosphere was relaxed. The staff were friendly and the music was great. We enjoyed sharing the Tapas and the tasty Sangria. A great place for a relaxed, fun dinner.

Good restaurant, although not the best. Decor and ambiance is great. Food is good although it is nothing that will blow you away. Staff could be a little more attentive to their customers. We waited ages for a refill of our water despite asking twice. Other than that, not a bad choice. Prices are average

We came here a couple of times during a recent stay in Manly. There were obviously plenty of regulars despite being a block back from the beach. There eas a friendly relaxed vibe, with the owner chatting away to tourists and locals alike. There seemed to be music every night, quiet acoustic guitar and blues guitar/harmonica the two nights we... More

This was our third or fourth visit to Artichoke and, as before, we went mainly for the music. This time it was the Sunday evening Blues jam and it was a lot of fun. But the food is worthwhile as well. We had the tapas - five plus a salad between three of us - and they were great. The... More
